Mission

Become an integral and leading member of a growing engineering team, and write quality code that contributes the health of our engineering team and our technology stack and to our overall business goals

Outcomes

1. Help to architect a complex, distributed, system using a variety of open source technologies
2. Write clean and working frontend and backend code that will contribute to features being deployed in a timely fashion
3. Review and QA your own code and others to ensure quality, maintainability, and reliability of all source code.

The Opportunity

As a Data Engineer at Demyst, you will be powering the latest technology at leading financial institutions around the world. You may be solving a fintech's fraud problems or crafting a Fortune 500 insurer's marketing campaigns. Using innovative data sets and Demyst's software architecture, you will use your expertise and creativity to build best-in-class solutions. You will see projects through from start to finish, assisting in every stage from testing to integration.

To meet these challenges, you will access data using Demyst's proprietary Python library via our JupyterHub servers, and utilize our cloud infrastructure built on AWS, including Athena, Lambda, EMR, EC2, S3, and other products. For analysis, you will leverage AutoML tools, and for enterprise data delivery, you'll work with our clients' data warehouse solutions like Snowflake, DataBricks, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal project managers, sales directors, account managers, and clients’ stakeholders to identify requirements and build external data-driven solutions
  • Perform data appends, extracts, and analyses to deliver curated datasets and insights to clients to help achieve their business objectives
  • Understand and keep current with external data landscapes such as consumer, business, and property data.
  • Engage in projects involving entity detection, record linking, and data modelling projects
  • Design scalable code blocks using Demyst’s APIs/SDKs that can be leveraged across production projects
  • Govern releases, change management and maintenance of production solutions in close coordination with clients' IT teams
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or similar technical discipline (or commensurate work experience); Master's degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of Python programming (with Pandas experience)
  • Experience with CSV, JSON, parquet, and other common formats
  • Data cleaning and structuring (ETL experience)
  • Knowledge of API (REST and SOAP), HTTP protocols, API Security and best practices
  • Experience with SQL, Git, and Airflow

The Offboarding Specialist manages all employee exits for Remote’s external employees with a focus on legal compliance and providing delightful customer service. As part of a larger employee Lifecycle team, the Offboarding Specialist is also expected to contribute to process improvements and initiatives in line with Remote’s strategic goals and values.

What you bring

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with generalist HR competencies and exposure across the employee lifecycle.
  • Proven experience with a strong background in managing voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with care, sensitivity and legal compliance; and providing comprehensive HR support and guidance on employment laws and regulations, spanning various jurisdictions.
  • Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, analyze complex HR issues, undertake research, provide practical solutions and effectively communicate recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders when operating in ambiguous and unfamiliar environments.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to confidently lead difficult conversations to a positive outcome, often where parties have conflicting interests, maintaining professionalism and strict confidentiality.
  • Business-level (advanced) proficiency in written and spoken English, with additional languages considered a plus.
  • Aptitude and appetite to innovate and optimize processes, continuously identifying and implementing opportunities for automation and championing best practices.
  • Efficiency in operations, with an awareness of the importance of thorough record-keeping and data integrity.

  • Manage and resolve end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions, prioritizing a superior offboarding experience for Remote’s clients and their employees.
  • Provide sound guidance and manage clients' requests on various HR matters, including but not limited to termination, resignation and transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes, ensuring legal compliance and best practices.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings with clients and external employees, including but not limited to workforce reduction consultation meetings, administrative hearings, negotiations in separations and settlements, providing guidance on terminations, and delivering termination outcomes.
  • Influence and negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations, balancing multiple stakeholders with competing interests.
  • Liaise with and coordinate various internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance in offboarding activities and audits, including but not limited to payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, and trade unions.
  • Draft, tailor and administer all termination and supplementary documents with accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring employee records are maintained with strict adherence to privacy and confidentiality regulations.
  • Process offboarding on Remote’s internal HRIS platform, collaborating with various internal stakeholders, such as Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Attendance, amongst other verticals, to ensure all aspects of the employee exit are administered correctly and promptly.
  • Be the subject-matter expert and respond to internal and external queries on all offboarding matters in conjunction with Lifecycle’s internal stakeholders.
  • Actively identify opportunities for and contribute to process improvements, automation, product development and overall customer and employee experience through the offboarding process.

This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global onboarding space as a Senior Client Services Specialist, joining our EOR Operations team.

At Remote, our ambition is to provide the best end-to-end customer experience. Working in partnership with our Client Service and Global Operations teams, you will design and execute the EOR experience for our Enterprise client(s) and their employees. You will also amplify the needs of the customer internally, by driving continuous feedback into our Operations, Product, and Customer Experience teams on ways we can better service these high-profile clients.

This role requires you to be fluent, both written and orally, in German, Bulgarian and English.

What you bring

  • Fluent in German and/or Bulgarian and English (written and orally)
  • 4-6+ years client service experience, managing progressively more senior accounts, ideally for HR Saas company, and/or managing complex customer success or operations projects within a technology-driven environment.
  • Strong ability to manage senior-level stakeholder relationships and deliver client-focused solutions based on customer feedback.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating cross-functionally others and directing stakeholders across multiple teams.
  • Deep understanding of Remote’s EOR operations, and the ability to translate customer insights into actionable feedback for product and market strategy adjustments.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, optimize, and systematically approach problem-solving and project management.
  • Experience with resource management across diverse internal teams - knowing how to coordinate multiple moving parts of a project into cohesive and clear stakeholder updates.
  • Proven success driving account/customer health and churn prevention.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities with the ability to get stuff done fast, and well.

We are looking for a skilled Full-stack Software Engineer for our new and exciting digital venture. You will primarily be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software using React and Node.JS technologies.

As part of this exciting new venture, you will tackle challenging and thought-provoking tasks on a daily basis. You will collaborate with a team of like-minded, driven individuals and engage with a wide variety of senior stakeholders from within Santam, Sanlam, and external partners.

Qualifications

Expectations - the experience you need.

  • 5+ years of experience in building software products.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Node.js and React.js.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • A solid understanding of microservices architecture and expertise in implementing and designing RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with building and maintaining a design framework.
  • Exposure to continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.

  • Lead the implementation of large-scale features for our customers and our internal finance, operations, and risk teams. 

  • Develop technical requirements alongside our Product team. 

  • Solve problems that span multiple interconnected systems with distributed architectures and scaling systems. 

  • Make data and metrics-driven decisions. 

  • Execute on the full lifecycle of new features with fellow engineers. 

  • Continue to improve how we build, test, and deliver software. 

  • Collaborate with our stakeholders to design and implement new credit products, as well as new features for our existing platform.
