As a Data Engineer Iat Pivot Bio, you will play a key role inmaking data actionable at all levelsof the organizationas partofourData Operations/ Data Platformteamsupporting company data functions. This person willinteract witha variety of teams across the companyto create and managedata throughitslifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Develop tools and processes that increase efficiency, integrity, and accuracy throughout the data lifecycleby writing andmaintaininghigh-quality, robust,and well-documentedcode
- Develop, curate, andmaintaindata and data pipelines forproduct research and developmentefforts
- Design and implement normalized database and denormalized data warehouseschemas
- Collaboratewith cross-functional teams tofacilitatequality data acquisition practices whereneeded
- Participate incode reviews and provide constructive feedback topeers
- Handle support requests and debug issues
- Help make data accessible to non-technical stakeholders through the creation offront-endtools and visualization dashboards
- Interact with fit-for-purpose software applications used for lab information management or agricultural trialmanagement
Physical Demands:
- Job will involve mostly (95%) office work with occasional (5%) time spent in the field or in-person meetings to understand processes
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, or fingers
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
- Communicating with others to exchange information
Qualificationsand Experience:
- Bachelors degreeinSTEMwith 2+ years of relevant experience indata engineering,data science,data stewardship and research or production agriculture or an equivalent amount of relevant experience.
- Proficiencywith Python and SQL (R is a plus) withdemonstratedexperience (e.g.coursework orGithubportfolio),experience with REST APIs,and manipulating databases in a user-oriented environment
- Experience navigating data ecosystems (e.g.databases, data lakes)
- Familiarity with data management infrastructure such as Databricks, Snowflake,AWS,or other pipeline management tools
- Strong attention to detail and orientation to process
- Great communicationskills
- Travel up to 5% of the time for visits to field trial sites, customer sites
