Mozilla Corp is looking to hire a VP of Data to accelerate the growth and impact of Mozilla’s existing products while setting the foundation for new product development through strong data science and date engineering direction, data strategy, and execution. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 15 years of experience in data science, data engineering and related roles as well as experience with machine learning, AI, and advanced analytics.They must have an advanced degree in a related field and minimum of 10 years of experience leading a team of data engineering & data science professionals. In addition, ideal candidates will bring the following experiences and capabilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Oversee the strategic direction of both the Data Science and Data Engineering teams, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives. Oversees a range of data-related functions that may include data management, ensuring data quality, and creating data strategy

The Opportunity

The Director of Engineering leads a critical set of teams within the Firefox Mobile organization. Mozilla is hiring a Remote AI Policy, Program Manager

AtMozilla, we are actively building, investing in and advocating for the future of trustworthy AI. We’re developing new products to demonstrate trustworthy AI principles in action, and giving consumers more choice and control. We’re rallying like-minded builders, researchers and advocacy groups to drive consensus around responsible AI development. We’re educating policymakers around the world on the existing risks and benefits of AI to shape more thoughtful regulations and fair market dynamics.

Reporting to the hiring manager, you will work closely with the AI policy lead and a range of teams across Mozilla’s different entities and programs, particularly Mozilla’s policy and advocacy teams.

To advance Mozilla’s vision in the AI policy space, the pan-Mozilla policy team is pursuing an ambitious multi-year AI policy strategy. To strengthen the small team tasked with implementing this strategy, Mozilla Foundation is seeking a skilled AI Policy Program Manager to help lead and manage our initiatives in the constantly evolving field of public policy development in artificial intelligence. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams across Mozilla to develop and implement AI strategies that align with Mozilla's mission of ensuring an open and accessible internet.

 

As an AI Policy, Program Manager at Mozilla Foundation, you will…

Program and Project Management (approximately 50%)

  • Manage and take ownership of AI-related projects in Mozilla’s policy function from conception to completion, ensuring they meet quality, time, and budget constraints.
  • Track and document key deadlines, deliverables, and dependencies within the team.
  • Track budget expenditures across projects and assure compliance with all Mozilla policies and procedures.
  • Work with cross-functional internal teams across Mozilla’s entities as well as with external partners and other collaborators to ensure the successful execution of projects in Mozilla’s policy function.

Policy Advocacy and Analysis (25%)

  • Support Mozilla’s policy advocacy and engage in policy discussions centering responsible AI practices and policy in line with Mozilla's values.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in AI and AI policy and assess legislative and regulatory initiatives across a variety of different countries and international forums.

Community Engagement (15%):

  • Manage the distribution of key organizational and team publications and programs to external partners.

Reporting and internal communication (10%)

  • Help prepare detailed reports and regular updates on the progress and outcomes of AI projects and initiatives related to AI policy.
  • Develop updates and presentations for executives and broader audiences through reports, presentations, blogs, etc.

Your Professional Profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or its equivalent in computer science, AI, law, public policy, or a related field with 3-4 years of full time experience. 
  • Proven experience in program and/or project management, particularly related to tech policy or AI-related projects.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies and their societal impacts as well as a keen interest in tech and AI policy around the globe. A familiarity with the open source and/or digital rights communities and with issue areas such as online privacy or competition policy are a plus.
  • Experience tracking projects using various tools, such as Asana, Trello, Airtable (No specific tool experience required.)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaborator management skills, including in an international context.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and to work remotely in a globally distributed and cross-functional team.

The Mozilla Foundation is dedicated to fair and equitable compensation for our staff. We aim to pay a competitive and market-based salary based on the responsibilities and requirements of the role. We do not ask for, or take into account, salary histories in our offer process.

We are seeking a new Program Manager to join the Pan Mozilla team working on the AI 360 workstream. In this role, you will develop effective project and program management systems for AI 360, a crosscutting program that acts as the connective tissue among all the AI activities happening across Mozilla Foundation, Mozilla Corporation, Mozilla Ventures and Mozilla AI. AI 360 aims to also explain this set of activities to the world, make links between them and measure their collective impact and progress over time. Program Management

The Opportunity

The CRM Data Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the quality and integrity of the Mozilla Foundation’s data in the Salesforce CRM and integrated tools. This position has a direct impact on broader team efforts to establish the Salesforce CRM as an important source of organizational data that enables strategic decision-making across the organization. The CRM Data Engineer will work closely with members of the Web Platforms Team and Data and Analytics Team, as well as key stakeholders across the organization. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining processes and solutions that meet business needs and ensure data integrity within the Salesforce CRM. 

Here are some projects you'll likely work on in your first 6 months:

  • Conduct regular parity checks across our integrated systems to assess and remedy gaps in the transfer of data among systems.

  • Perform data testing for configuration of objects, fields, record types, page layouts, workflow and validation rules in Salesforce
  • Participate in development requirements gathering and grooming sessions to represent data impacts including but not limited to data governance, historical data and future data needs

Your Professional Profile:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in data governance, and data management
  • Experience working with Salesforce Service or Sales Cloud; NPSP experience is a plus; Salesforce Administrator Certification preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of statistical foundations and analytics
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce data model
  • Experience integrating 3rd party technologies and services with Salesforce

About the Team:

About the Role:

A central responsibility of this role is enhancing and expanding the capabilities of web crawling and data collection systems. This includes scaling these systems to handle higher frequencies of web scans and integrating extensive datasets from millions of companies into the Ratings Platform. Moreover, the position is focused on pioneering and refining techniques for efficiently operationalizing the gathering of comprehensive web-based and Internet-wide data and threat intelligence.  This is a remote role located in Canada or LATAM only.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with Scripting languages (e.g. Python, Ruby)

What You'll Do

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team including engineers, product managers, risk, analytics following Agile best practices

  • Partner with business stakeholders, upstream infrastructure platform teams, and downstream data consumers to understand and translate business requirements into technical design while working on advanced analytics use cases

  • Work with advanced analytics technologies to solve data and computation challenges at a large scale.

  • Deliver analytical algorithms and applications.

  • Develop and support data pipelines, warehouses, data models, and reporting systems to tackle business opportunities within the Analytics community at Affirm

  • Influence and educate stakeholders across the organization (analytics, business, product) to promote data usage best practices within the scope of Analytics tools such as DBT, Looker, SQL, Python etc.

What We Look For

  • BS or MS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or with a proven track of record from programming areas.

  • 2-4 years work experience in an Analytics, Data Modeling, and Data Provisioning (acquisition from various sources, transformation and sharing) role

  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and/or experience with Python. Experience with DBT or Snowflake is a plus.

  • Strong working experience with at least one BI tool (Looker, Tableau, Power BI)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally

  • Ability to think creatively and critically and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous work environment

  • Ability to communicate and influence both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Enough laziness to find a faster way to do your least favorite tasks

  • Humility and team player - you go out of your way to help teammates

  • A plus to have worked in Agile methodology as well as with DevOps practices and using appropriate tools such as Jira, GitHub, etc.

The Streaming Infra team at Affirm is responsible for all data computation and drives the strategy for event driven architecture, stream processing, data exploration, discovery and validation. We leverage existing open source technologies like Kafka, Spark, Flink, Beam, Map Reduce and also build our own as needed. As a member of our team you would spend time identifying and executing on new use cases of stream processing, data infrastructure, designing and scaling our existing infrastructure and working closely with other teams to promote the optimal use of data at the company.

What you'll do
* Architect stream processing features to execute on our ambitious event driven ecosystem.
* Develop robust, well-instrumented stream processing data pipelines that can scale to handle Affirm's future growth and adhere to strict SLAs.
* Design and build data infrastructure systems, services and tools to handle new Affirm products and business requirements that securely scale over millions of users and their transactions.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead projects and initiatives on the Fraud Decisioning team. You’ll be responsible for building tools and systems that empower Affirm fraud fighting capabilities, work with cross-functional teams to adopt and monitor those and use analytics and data driven decisions to further improve the performance and quality of fraud deciders. Our mission is to drive growth while protecting Affirm, buyers, and merchants. We achieve this by leveraging data to evaluate risk at critical points in the user journey, adapting to the ever-changing fraud landscape, and by introducing new fraud-fighting capabilities..

What You’ll Do

  • Work across the org to plan and execute large, cross-functional initiatives, including: project definition, technical specification, task break-down, delivery, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Generate simple and elegant designs that are easily deployed and debugged, but anticipate the unhappy path. Write high-quality code that can be easily understood and leveraged by others.
  • Review others’ work and provide constructive feedback in order to maintain high and consistent quality standards across teams.
  • Lead and mentor engineers to help them succeed and grow. Provide the right context to engineers and train them to take ownership of their respective pieces of the initiative. 
  • Effectively incorporate needs and opinions from stakeholders, advocate for ideas and initiatives, and create a common understanding where all voices are heard.
