Job Description
The Global Trade Compliance Program Manager will be responsible for supporting the business throughout the APAC region to manage the regional Global Trade Compliance program and oversee its refinement throughout the region. This position will report to the Director of Import Compliance within the Ethics & Compliance team in the Legal Department and will join a close knit team of trade professionals around the globe.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and drive strategic direction for trade compliance policies and strategies in the APAC region
- Assist in managing region-specific trade compliance procedures and SOP’s
- Conduct trade compliance audits, identify potential trade compliance risks, and drive corrective actions to improve compliance
- Support our global and APAC trade compliance program and initiatives, including by managing local compliance and filings
- Provide guidance to in-country teams for complying with WDC Global Trade Compliance policies (import and export) and other trade regulations
- Monitor, report on, and develop strategies for navigating local and global trade regulations and developments impacting the region in collaboration with global trade compliance colleagues and other stakeholders
- Assist with deployment of global Ethics & Compliance and trade compliance initiatives, communications, and trainings, third party/sanction screenings and reviews, and promote a business culture of trade compliance and ethics
- Respond to escalations of Customs issues and export/sanction screenings
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in trade compliance roles, preferably with a technology/manufacturing company, with APAC regional (China, Thailand, Malaysia, etc.) customs experience
- Strong knowledge of Customs regulatory tenants (tariff classification, customs valuation, and country of origin)
- University degree or relevant certification
- Excellent communication skills (including verbal and written English), strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail
- Strong business background, including history of translating trade compliance regulations to sustainable business process
- Experience advising colleagues in the navigation of complex trade issues
- Experience working cross-functionally with various stakeholders including engineering and R&D teams
- Has delivered results for functional leaders on multiple projects and has the skills to lead projects and complete tasks independently
- Able to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with strong customer focus

- Nimble learner and quick to learn new and different technologies and stay abreast of emerging technologies
- Experience with import licensing programs such as LMW and/or export/sanctions regulations of the U.S. and other jurisdictions a plus
