Truebill is hiring a Remote Senior Director/Vice President, Engineering

ABOUT ROCKET MONEY????

At Rocket Money, we’ve built an app that enables people to save more, spend less, see everything, and take back control of their financial lives. With millions of users already onboard, we’re continuing to grow and are looking for a seasoned engineering leader to take our technical vision and execution to new heights. This role will take the reigns of our product engineering function, leading groups of full-stack teams as they work cross-functionally to deliver high quality user experiences and reliable systems.

ABOUT THE TEAM ????

We’re looking for someone with a strong mind for both technical and organizational challenges, as well as someone who believes in sustainably growing an engineering team to balance velocity, team member development, and a healthy engineering culture.

ABOUT THE ROLE ????

In This Role, You’ll…

  • Take ownership of the quality, reliability, and performance of a product that is used by millions of people. You’ll be a critical escalation path for production incidents in addition to a guiding voice as the team works to resolve them.
  • Lead an organization that balances thoughtful, rigorous technical decision-making with rapid product iteration and experimentation.
  • Design systems that scale teams and people – career ladders, development processes, team structures, etc.
  • Represent engineering in collaboration with the heads of product, design, data, marketing, and others to define and execute on a roadmap for our product.
  • Challenge organizational direction and advocate for the company we should be, not just the company we currently are.
  • Identify, attract, empower, and retain top engineering talent to build an organization that can execute against an ambitious roadmap.
  • Use your wealth of technical experience and expertise to set technical direction for the engineering department, and work with group leaders and a senior team to carry out that vision.
  • Empower the rest of the organization by driving the adoption of technical solutions and new tooling for complex problems.

ABOUT YOU ????

  • You’re a builder at heart who is motivated by the challenges that exist at the intersection of designing a system and scaling a business. You have no desire to stay in your lane and focus on purely technical concerns.
  • You have experience building high quality consumer-facing applications and systems that support millions of users.
  • You’re a generalist who can participate in conversations across the stack, from React application logic through what’s happening on the backend and into the underlying infrastructure on which the code is deployed.
  • You’re eager to dig into code, systems, and architecture to understand how the system works and where it can be improved. You’re an engineer who leads, not just a leader of engineers; opportunities to look at the code and talk through it with someone on the team are cherished.
  • You scale processes to the needs of the organization rather than the other way around, understanding that there is no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to organizing a team. What works for a team of 2,000 engineers doesn’t necessarily work for a team of 200 engineers.
  • You have deep familiarity with most of our stack and challenges – scaling AWS infrastructure, operating large PostgreSQL databases at scale, shipping mobile applications to the app stores (ours are built with React Native), and designing/deploying Node/Typescript applications.

WE OFFER ????

  • Health, Dental & Vision Plans
  • Competitive Pay
  • Matching 401k
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Lunch daily
  • Snacks & Coffee
  • Commuter benefits

Additional information: Salary range of $220,000 - $250,000 + bonus + benefits. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Cloudflare is hiring a Remote Systems Engineer - Orpheus / Argo Smart Routing

About Us

At Cloudflare, we have our eyes set on an ambitious goal: to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world’s largest networks that powers approximately 25 million Internet properties, for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.

We realize people do not fit into neat boxes. We are looking for curious and empathetic individuals who are committed to developing themselves and learning new skills, and we are ready to help you do that. We cannot complete our mission without building a diverse and inclusive team. We hire the best people based on an evaluation of their potential and support them throughout their time at Cloudflare. Come join us!

Available Locations: US Remote, Canada, Mexico City

What You’ll Do

The Orpheus team was formed to own a very important aspect of Cloudflare's systems: enable more reliable network connectivity for Cloudflare’s products than the Internet itself provides.

Almost all products in Cloudflare’s portfolio are or will be powered by Orpheus technology, including CDN, Spectrum, Magic Transit, Stream, Workers, Workers AI, R2, WARP, and more. As a member of the Orpheus team, you’ll be a key technical contributor to the cutting edge network software infrastructure used by those products.

You will work closely with various Engineering teams to translate their requirements into new capabilities on the platform. Likewise you will partner with Network Engineering and SRE to ensure that the technology makes the best use of Cloudflare's world-class edge network.

You will participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from designing and documenting systems, to writing code and automated tests, to planning, managing, and monitoring production software deployments. You will work with a wide range of technologies and programming languages, including Rust, Go, Linux networking, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Grafana, Kubernetes, and more.

Engineering teams at Cloudflare operate a Run What You Build model, including ours. We are responsible for the health of our system and participate in our team's on-call rotation as part of operational responsibilities.

Because you’ll be solving problems of massive scale and significance, you are a growth-oriented individual who enjoys being outside of your comfort zone. You are comfortable in a fast-paced but sensible work environment. You value curiosity and empathy and lead with these values.

Examples of Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Systems-level programming experience in Go, Rust, C, or C++. We use Rust extensively, and while experience with the language isn't required a willingness to learn it is.

  • Knowledge of HTTP, TLS, and CDN networks.
  • Experience in implementing secure and highly-available distributed systems.
  • Strong ability to debug issues in complex systems.

Path Forward Partnership: Since 2016, we have partnered with Path Forward, a nonprofit organization, to create 16-week positions for mid-career professionals who want to get back to the workplace after taking time off to care for a child, parent, or loved one.

1.1.1.1: We released 1.1.1.1to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Here’s the deal - we don’t store client IP addresses never, ever.
