Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom Shopify themes and applications for the internal e-commerce platform.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other engineers to create innovative and efficient solutions.
  • Develop and implement responsive, efficient, and maintainable code, adhering to best practices and established coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to fellow engineers.
  • Participate in the planning and estimation of project timelines.
  • Continuously research and learn about new technologies, trends, and best practices in Shopify development to stay ahead of the curve.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in React, GraphQL, Apollo, and building REST APIs.
  • Experience with Node.js and server-side development.
  • Experience with Shopify’s Hydrogen Framework.
  • Experience with server-less application development (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
  • Experience working with containers, Docker, Kubernetes, or other orchestration services.

Education and Experience

  • 5-7+ years of professional experience as an active participant in an Agile Development Team.
  • Expert understanding of the JavaScript language and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax.
  • Proficient in Shopify's Liquid templating language, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • In-depth understanding of the Shopify platform, including its APIs, SDKs, and various tools.
  • Strong knowledge of web performance optimization and best practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools, such as Jira.

About the role:

Samsara is looking for experienced Engineering managers to be part of our Core Platform team. The team is responsible for the core enterprise capabilities that power Samsara’s Connected Operations platform. In this role, you will:

  • Assist in writing, reviewing, and maintaining Stoplight product documentation

Requirements

Politech seeks a Front End Engineer to join our team. We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills who will work as a team player and a self-starter. The ideal candidate should have mid-level experience, but won’t be placed in some hierarchical structure. This position will work directly with the other developers and report directly to the CEO.

The individual should be highly motivated to make a difference and to move progressive issues forward. Interest and understanding of politics and campaigns is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Improve existing React/Elixir code
  • Contribute to Phoenix API and tooling
  • Triage bug reports

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a development role
  • Demonstrated competency with Javascript and React (open source is a huge plus)
  • Familiarity with concepts of RESTful APIs
  • Excellent written English communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Good at receiving and giving constructive feedback

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Elixir/Phoenix
  • Experience managing deployment environments (we use Ansible/Docker)
  • Familiarity with mobile app development using React Native or Swift
  • Familiarity with JavaScript bundling tools like Babel and Webpack

  • Plan and lead major technical initiatives to maintain and improve the Android app architecture .

What You’ll  Bring to the Table:   

  • Experience working as a senior engineer developing Android apps. (Translates to roughly to 5 or more years of experience.)
  • Expertise in native Android development involving Kotlin and it's related ecosystem of tools.
  • Technical and people leadership skills, an ability to inspire your team to write high quality code.
  • Eagerness to learn about the Smart Home industry.

Interview Process:   

  • Round 1: A 45-minute phone call with a member of Talent Acquisition.

  • Round 4: A final 1-hour virtual interview with senior members of cross-functional teams you'll engage with regularly.

  • 3+ years of frontend experience in technologies like Typescript, React, NextJs, Cypress, WebPack, Material Design, Express
  • A passion for well architected, testable and documented code and an agile mindset
  • Strong analytical thinking, both in the technical and in the product domain.
  • Experience in complex software projects with end-to-end ownership building Microservices
  • Practical experience in AWS or another cloud provider
  • Good communication skills that are clear, open and concise, professional proficiency in English
  • Previous experience with security topics and/or DevOps experience is a big advantage
  • Background in the financial industry and financial software product development is an advantage
