About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Principal Engineer for our Client Identity & Access Management team. Your team will propose and build solutions for implementing secure authentication features along with authorization features for a household account. In Client Identity & Access Management Engineering, we are scaling our authentication system to provide a seamless authentication experience. We are also looking at expanding our customer base with a household account feature that will help drive features  and payments and discounts across multiple accounts. As a Principal Engineer, you will help shape the future of Stitch Fix’s Authentication & User Accounts systems. You will also be responsible for planning, building, and maintaining features and software in support of that future. 

Building valuable and sustainable software is a group activity. You will work within a distributed team of software engineers and cross-functional partners including product, design, algorithms, finance, etc. You're expected to have strong written communication skills and be able to develop strong working relationships with coworkers and business partners. This is a remote position available within the United States. We operate in an agile-inspired manner; collaborating across multiple time zones. About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer II with experience in iOS and Android for our Mobile Platform team — in our San Francisco office or remotely. Our team owns the shared iOS component library, our build and deployment processes, other third-party SDK integrations, and our Android app. The work we do serves our clients by prioritizing accessibility, app performance, and a consistent user experience. Agero has a vision to automate the roadside assistance industry. Who You Are:

• You have 3+ years of experience writing idiomatic JavaScript/Node.js, Golang, Java, Python, Scala, or Ruby
• You use a modern version-control system for your source code repository (Git, Mercurial, GitHub, BitBucket).
• You lint all your code or know you should.
• You know what parts of your code require tests and you write those tests.
• You use objective judgement in leveraging the right frameworks and technologies.
• You are versed in cloud computing systems (GCP, AWS, etc.) and SAAS concepts.
• You build modern, resilient and operationally sane backend systems exemplifying industry standards (HTTP REST, GraphQL, Stream processing, Big Data).
• You leverage continuous integration systems to their full extent (CircleCI, Bamboo, Jenkins, TravisCI).
• You plan for, build, evolve and scrutinize monitoring and alerting for your production systems.
• You are willing and able to deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain your systems in production and staging environments.

Extra Credit:

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker, CircleCI, Git, Golang, Java
• Experience with GraphQL, GraphQL Federation, REST APIs and supporting network protocols
• Experience with a distributed SQL platform like CockroachDB or Google Spanner
• Experience with Hadoop, MapReduce, or other “Big Data” systems

Location & Covid

Today, about half our team are in Los Angeles and half are fully remote and spread across the U.S. There are two options for this job:

1. Live in Los Angeles, work a few days a week (or more) out of our beautiful office in the Arts District.
2. Live wherever, work remotely (Ideally PST hours), and travel to LA (on the company dime) as needed to be with your colleagues —somewhere between monthly and quarterly.

In short: You can do this job well remotely, and we’re committed to empowering everyone with flexibility. But we care a lot about building a great culture and we think some interactions need to happen in person, so we put a lot of thought into retreats, offsites, and other ways to gather. 

As for Covid: When the pandemic started, we immediately shifted to fully remote to protect our team and shuttered our office. Today, everyone on the team is vaccinated, and many come in often (though we don’t require it). Going forward, you can expect that vaccinations will be required for all employees (unless medically unable) and that if a variant emerges that makes in-person work unsafe for vaccinated people, we’ll close our office, cease any travel, and do whatever it takes to protect and support our team.

As Rocket Money's user onboarding team, we're responsible for creating a seamless experience for new users. From the moment someone first hears about Rocket Money, through their first few days of using the platform, our code makes sure that a user's first interactions are seamless, valuable, and delightful.

We work closely with product, marketing, and data teams on tools and integrations that help us understand our users and drive favorable business outcomes like increased retention, engagement, and ROAS (return on ad spend).

Some of the things we regularly tackle include:

• Simultaneously improving our user experience and our business outcomes by building new mobile and web onboarding UIs through a data-driven development process.
• Maintaining and improving our internal A/B testing systems.
• Helping other dev teams understand and leverage the data within our marketing and analytics stacks.
• Integrating a wide range of products to surface insights about user analytics, attribution, engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
• Leading investments into the the tooling and developer experience of Rocket Money’s technical platform.

THE ROLE

Currently we are focused on providing equitable solutions to historically under-resourced communities of learners and teachers, and guided by our Engineering Principles. On the Infrastructure team, you’ll be supporting our product teams, and you might work on projects such as:

• 5+ years experience building world-class product experiences for an interactive web-app. In particular, you have built and maintained complex, stateful, frontend user interfaces that make good use of modern CSS and React.
• Strong technical project management skills, as our Senior Software Engineers often lead projects.
