- Entry-level to mid-senior level

We are is seeking to hire multiple Full-Stack Developers to work with our customers in solution design, Development, QA testing and maintenance projects. We take a consultative approach in our discovery and assessment phases with the output being solutions that are built with automation, reliability, performance, and security in mind on top of the leading public cloud platforms and technologies. As an integral part of the Software Development team, you will design, develop, test and maintain applications that are purpose-built and well suited to their target infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical discovery and assessment, gather business and technical requirements, architect and develop applications
  • Communicate proposed architectures with internal and client technical teams.
  • Be a technology evangelist and educate prospects and customers on the cloud solutions, application development frameworks, and modern application stacks that makes the most sense for their business and technology requirements
  • Collaborate in the creation of technical collateral (blog posts, whitepapers, etc...) and provide training in your are of expertise
  • Give back to the community by volunteering at technical events, speaking at technical conference, organizing local meetups, and participating in case studies
  • Attend and complete online and onsite training based on assigned training program.  
  • Write, review, and edit reports, use cases, and system documentation.

Qualifications

What you know matters more to us than how you learned it. While a traditional CS background is fantastic, we are also open to candidates who are bootcamp graduates or self-taught. We are looking for people who love learning, teaching, solving problems, and working as a team.  You must have a techie attitude, with willingness to learn new things, share and grow as a team.  Qualifications we are looking for are one or more of the following.  We are not looking for unicorns, do not try to check all the boxes.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT Management or similar.
  • Experience designing and building production-level large scale web application.
  • Experience building responsive & intuitive web applications using Serverless Technologies. 
  • Experience working with a modern front-end JavaScript framework (Angular, React, Vue, etc.)
  • Experience working with the Python/Django framework.
  • Experience working with public API technologies (REST, GraphQL)
  • Understanding of Relational and Non-Relational Databases (MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, DynamoDB)
  • Understanding of Agile/DevOps, QA and Testing concepts and tools.
  • Experience working with Git, GitHub, GitLab, etc.
  • Experience working with public cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Experience with containers and/or serverless architecture

    Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy:Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market.         • You’ll use your skills to help solve real-world problems, while learning about the food, consumer products, and personalized nutrition ecosystem

        • You’ll work across the Pinto Web stack using tools and languages like JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, MongoDB, GraphQL, React, Sass

        • You’ll envision and create new features for our core data platform, which processes large, complex data sets from a variety of sources 

        • You’ll build interfaces and tools to display, process, and update data on the Pinto platform

        • You’ll envision and create tools that contribute to and enhance our end-to-end data pipeline

        • You’ll automate and handle the life-cycle of systems and platforms that process our data

        • You’ll model, design and implement complex data integrations with our industry partners

        • You’ll build tools and processes that enhance our end-to-end data pipeline, and will envision new features to continually improve and refine this pipeline 

        • You’ll work with our Research, Nutrition, & Data Analyst teams to gain a deep knowledge of underlying use cases in food data and nutrition

        • You’ll contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Pinto Web stack

        Qualifications

        Qualifications

        • Strong experience with: React, Node.js, document databases (e.g. MongoDB)

        • 5+ years of professional software development experience

        • Bachelor's degree in computer science (or similar) or equivalent practical experience

        • A track record of shipping high-quality software from start to finish

        • A solid foundation in computer science fundamentals with sound knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design

        • Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment

        • Self-aware and have a desire to learn and improve

        Bonus points for

        • Example of code projects you’ve worked on (e.g. GitHub, BitBucket)

        • Experience with: TypeScript, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Distributed Systems

        • Experience working with React Native

        • Experience working with large, complex data sets from a variety of sources

        • Experience with or strong interest in data science and/or machine learning

        • Strong communication skills
