The Team:

You’ll be part of a distributed team across Europe & the US, who leverage cloud-managed database offerings, such as a PostgreSQL fleet, to manage our meta-data.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to build the next generation of our infrastructure and help it scale with the growth of Celonis. This role has large growth potential and is ideal for inventive self-starters who like to think out of the box.

The work you’ll do:

• Design and develop infrastructure projects related to meta-data.
• Build automation for deployment, monitoring, and usage of database products.
• Mentor junior engineers.

Example projects include:

• An audited, secure, throttled self-service query store developers can use on production systems.
• Automated monitoring and alerting of the entire Postgres fleet.
• Infrastructure-as-code for database, table and monitoring parameters.

The qualifications you need:

• 8+ years of experience building distributed systems.
• 8+ years of experience in Linux and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud providers, preferably AWS or Azure.
• Experience with RDBMS; PostgreSQL experience is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a similar field; Master’s degree preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL).
• Terraform, ArgoCD, Ansible are all a plus.

About the Role  

This role involves managing and supporting a team of passionate research engineers who are building innovative technology and conducting scientific research. For this role we welcome experience in any of the domains in which we work, or adjacent domains. The Software Engineer, Calendar role spans several internal levels and a wide breadth of experience at Superhuman. Our compensation band reflects the potentially broad range of candidates and experience levels that we are open to hiring for this role.

Our starting salaries for this role range from $165,000 - $185,000. The salary range does not reflect total compensation, which includes base salary, benefits, and company stock options.

What this job can offer you

• You'll be joining 250 engineers across Frontend, Backend, SRE and QA. We're organised into cross-functional development teams assigned to specific product areas. Regardless of the specific team you will be joining, you will be working on building features, tools, APIs and integrations for one of our products.
• Our backend is built with Elixir and Phoenix, with a Postgres database. We use React and Nextjs for our frontend. Gitlab is used as a version control tool and a CI/CD solution. Our applications are hosted on AWS. We fully rely on our CI for deployments and deploy multiple times per day.
