Job Description

The Principal Engineer will play a key role in leading the Architecture, Design and Development of key initiatives within the Marketplace domain in Experian Consumer Services. Direct to Consumer Marketplace is one of the fastest growing areas with Experian and we are looking for a technology leader who thrives in a fast-moving environment. The candidate will work very closely with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to deliver high quality, scalable, cloud-based technology solutions.

Ideal candidate will be a hands-on Engineer, who has deep expertise in the design and development of highly scalable cloud-native Java platforms; able to spend 80% of their time in architecture, design and development of enterprise grade software, and other 20% of their time in leading, mentoring other engineers on the team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Sizing, Design, Development and Testing of key programs within Marketplace Engineering
  • Guides the development of technical solutions that are built for quality, scale and performance. 
  • Design, Development and Testing of core components and Microservices within Marketplace Engineering
  • Participate in code and design reviews to minimize rework and catch issues early in the process.
  • Coach and support engineers on the team, with a strong focus on feedback and growth
  • Drive hiring, training, career plans, and performance reviews for the engineering team
  • Collaborate with the business, product management and PMO on product roadmaps and quarterly planning sessions.
  • Ensure stable Production operations with focus on uptime, performance and reliability.
  • Drives a continuous learning culture to help guide continuous improvements.
  • Provides leadership on Lean/Agile principles and development practices.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience designing and building customer-facing distributed web services and APIs. (REST, GraphQL, etc.)
  • MS in Computer Science or related field preferred or equivalent amount of experience, knowledge, and skills.
  • Understanding and experience designing systems which are deployed in cloud-based containerized environments and orchestration solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of Microservices, Event streaming, Data pipelines, and associated frameworks in a low latency environment.
  • Experience building end to end observability dashboards using Splunk, Datadog, etc.
  • Hands-on experience engineering solutions within the AWS ecosystem
  • Strong database programming skills, preferably in both SQL and NoSQL Databases
  • Proven experience in building, leading and inspiring high functioning technology teams.
  • Ability to quickly learn & master new business domains to drive the right design and decisions
  • Able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment and achieve results amidst constraints.
  • Deep understanding of design and software engineering practices, design principles and patterns and unit testing.
  • Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Architect and design leading solutions with a strong focus on security.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics or other business/analytical disciplines or equivalent experience. 

    • Master Anaplanner or Anaplan Solutions Architect Certification. 

    • Experience in BI design and development, UI/UX best practices. 

    • Experience with PowerBI or other BI tools and developing dashboards. 

    • Experience writing and debugging SQL queries with large-scale, complex data sets in a business setting.

    Senior Systems Engineer - Warp

    Available locations: UK or Portugal

    What you'll do

    As a Senior Systems engineer in the WARP team you will join a team that works on the backend system that allows our customers to manage their devices via our Zero Trust Network solution. 
    In this role, you will work on the design, capacity planning, development, maintenance and enhancement of features that make our WARP and Zero Trust product, such as Device Posture, Orchestration and Notification.

    We are looking for engineers that are versatile and display leadership qualities capable of setting technical direction of the product, with a focus on growth, scalability and high-availability.
    You will support the management team on the planning, priority, deadlines and deliverables of solutions to our customers requirements.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large scale software solutions.
    • Provide technical leadership to the team projects and objectives
    • Influence a team of engineers, coach and mentor a distributed team.
    • Support the management team on the strategy and roadmap of the team, identifying opportunities and critical projects for the success of the team and product.
    • Facilitate alignment and clarity across the Zero Trust teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
    • Support on the management of project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

     

    Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

    • At least 3 years of experience of technical leadership
    • Experience managing high available systems with disaster recovery support.
    • Experience in at least of the following languages: Go, Rust
    • Experience in Typescript
    • Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs at scale
    • Knowledge of SQL and common relational database systems such as PostgreSQL and MySQL
    • Knowledge on distributed NoSQL databases
    • Excellent debugging experience and optimization skills
    • Experience with Kubernetes

    Procore's Customer Success organization is seeking an experienced Integration Engineer to develop,  implement and maintain complex data integrations for our clients.     As an Integration Engineer on our Technical Services team, you'll serve as the primary developer on integration projects, managing integrations, and other technical services. You'll work with colleagues and clients to understand business requirements, gather information, and build the integrations which connect Procore and client systems. This is a tremendous opportunity to build solutions that support the backbone operations of our clients and increase the value they realize using our software.

    This position reports to the Manager, Technical Services, and will be based in our Portland, OR, Carpinteria, CA, or Austin, TX offices. We're looking for someone to join us immediately.

    What you'll do:

    • Develop, deploy, and maintain integration processes between Procore's REST API and client applications using Dell Boomi
    • Work with your Procore teammates to design and prototype potential integrations
    • Analyze integration requirements and perform gap analysis; craft and manage technical design documents
    • Manage, monitor, troubleshoot, and support existing integrations
    • Responsible for architectural and technical project documentation
    • Communicate and collaborate effectively with clients, technical peers, and business users to scope and deliver client projects

    What we're looking for:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
    • 2+ years of integration development experience
    • Strong understanding of various integration technologies, including iPaaS, REST, SOAP, XML, SQL, FTP/Filesystems
    • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Professional Dell Boomi Developer or Architect certification; or development experience on iPaaS applications such as Workato, Mulesoft, and Informatica
    • Functional experience with ERP systems (i.e., NetSuite, Oracle EBS, Oracle JDE, etc.) is preferred
