Role Overview

The Storefront Team at Recharge is responsible for storefront widgets and backend services. These inject Recharge features; Subscriptions, Bundles, and Loyalty benefits into our merchant’s checkout experience. They handle 2.5M+ sessions per day and are some of our highest scale components in our platform. Checkout performance is critical to driving merchant revenue. As a result our widgets require high performance and stability.

In addition to the front-end widgets, the team is also responsible for supporting back-end services consisting of SQL/document databases, a CDN, event-driven messaging systems and REST APIs.

Role Overview

The Rewards team at Recharge is responsible for building out and maintaining functionality that enables our merchants to engage, retain and reward customers. We own core functionality like our Credits and Customer services.

How will this role have an impact?

A Software Engineer - Datadevelops systems to manage data flow throughout Signify Health’s infrastructure. This involves all elements of data engineering, such as ingestion, transformation, and distribution of data.

Requirements

The base salary hiring range for this position is $72,100 to $125,600. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.

Overview

  • Work with other engineers to strategize on how to decouple PHP services into new Java microservices
  • Horizontally scale our PHP platform to handle another 10+ billion events per day

  • Mentor other developers to help them grow
  • Maintain and improve service level objectives (SLOs)

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar quantitative field or the equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years experience with Java services
  • 3+ years experience with relational or non-relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc
  • Proficient in microservices and horizontally scalable architectures

A successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on the role, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for roles in Colorado, California, and New York.

The current range for this role is $76,000 - $119,000 (base salary) + bonus + equity + benefits.

What You’ll Do

  • Support Addepar's production infrastructure in real time to ensure uptime and customer satisfaction.
  • Investigate, Elaborate and Present budget forecasts for our AWS cloud Infrastructure
  • Maintain / Improve existing tooling and automation to assist on Cost Optimization and Reporting
  • Provide visibility over the usage of AWS Accounts and other vendor budgets at different levels, including top management.
  • Provide short and long-term technical solutions.
  • Coordinate various teams to identify and eliminate wasteful or unnecessary costs.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Core Platform Operation team to accurately cost implementations and help make cost efficient architectural choices based on AWS cost management capabilities and pricing models.

Who You Are

  • Experience 5+ years in Infrastructure as Systems Engineer
  • 4+ years in FinOps or Cloud Cost Management
  • 5+ years experience running a large scale production environment including real time support and on-call responsibilities.
  • 1-3 years experience in configuring one or more monitoring/observability tools like: Splunk/SumoLogic, Prometheus+Grafana, Cloudwatch
  • Sophisticated knowledge of public cloud concepts and infrastructures (AWS)
  • Experience in cost offset detection, rightsizing, tagging and automation
  • Incident management experience
  • Experience with Linux/UNIX administration.
  • Proven experience with IaC solutions including Terraform, Salt, and Ansible.
  • Solid Linux sysadmin skills including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and day to day operations.
  • Experience troubleshooting AWS issues with base services such as EC2, S3, RDS and networking.

As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer, you’ll … 

  • Join our Site Reliability team, which is responsible for infrastructure behind our core Webflow tools, APIs, and hosting services.
  • Empower engineers on other teams to take control of their services by writing shared infrastructure-as-code tooling and collaborating on internal best practices for infrastructure.
  • Consult with other teams across engineering to continuously improve runbooks, documentation, and other operational processes to better support our production environment.
  • Occasionally dive into the main Webflow application in Node, Python, or Go to better discern (and sometimes fix) behavior in production.
  • Drive relationships with stakeholders across Customer Support, Partnerships, and Sales to understand how Webflow’s production services should support projected growth. 
  • Participate in and help to scale on-call and incident response processes with future roadmapping in mind.
  • Drive cross-pillar collaboration with software engineers, product managers, designers, and QA analysts in an autonomous, supportive team environment.
  • Effectively communicate team priorities and strategy to engineering and cross-functional leadership teams.
  • Improve our planning, development, and deployment processes to help you and your fellow team members.
  • Participate in all engineering activities including incident response, interviewing, designing and reviewing technical specifications, code review, and releasing new functionality.

About you 

You’ll thrive as a Staff Site Reliability Engineer if you … 

  • Have 7-10+ years of experience in scalable, multi-tenant environments.
  • Either a background as an ops engineer with an enthusiasm for code, or a background as a software engineer with an enthusiasm for systems administration.
  • 5+ years of experience building, maintaining, and debugging distributed systems in a customer-facing environment that allows for little to no downtime.
  • Experience navigating and scaling multi-tier cloud environments on either AWS or GCP.
  • Experience with container-centric architectures, built with Docker and tools like Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS, OpenShift, etc.), ECS, Docker Swarm, or Mesos.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Experience in contributing to full-stack applications built using tools like React, Node, and MongoDB.
  • Enthusiasm for mentoring and sponsoring less-experienced engineers.

It would be a bonus if you had even one of the following:

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Nginx, Terraform, or Pulumi specifically.
  • Experience improving on-call and incident response processes for Engineering.
  • Experience working in high-compliance environments or a special interest in security engineering. We are not the security team, but we are always looking to improve our security posture!

Compensation and Benefits

Our anticipated compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets, and the range below indicates the low end of the lowest-compensated market to the high end of the highest-compensated market. This position is eligible for new hire and ongoing grants of restricted stock units depending on employee and company performance. $142,000$152,000 USD
