You will be experienced project leaders, with a proven track record of successfully delivering compounds into clinical development.   Your goal will be to drive client drug discovery projects from target validation through to Candidate selection employing your extensive scientific knowledge as well as strategic capabilities. Working cross-functionally across our core therapeutic areas of Oncology, Inflammation, Neuroscience and Infectious diseases, you will be central to progressing a significant portfolio of projects on behalf of, and together with, our clients. Bringing together the breadth of Eurofins Discovery operations you will forge scientific project teams combining internal and client members to design, plan, and drive DiscoveryOne integrated drug discovery projects.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Business Development team to consult with the client as to their requirements, research, help prepare and deliver client integrated drug discovery proposals containing, where required, screening cascade/work flow design – requiring interaction with client, BL key stakeholders and key experts from sites within Eurofins Discovery including pricing team.
  • Drive the  progress of projects and activities across the relevant sites to ensure timely delivery of data, project milestones and productive relationships with clients.
  • Interpret data to enable swift decision making, identify and avoid  future risks to enable achievement of timelines, budgets or  milestones and support the project team in reaching solutions satisfactory to the clients
  • Act as the key project contact in regular communications with client’s project matters including scheduling and attending regular project meetings, presenting updates to the client on timelines (Gantt), data delivery, change requests, financial and commercial aspects of the project. 
  • Support the maintenance of the relevant project management documents, on-line project trackers (SharePoint) and Gantt Charts to support project tracking.
  • Develops resourcing and budget plans to meet client needs
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of Eurofins Discovery capabilities and capacity and the wider capabilities of Eurofins Biopharma Services
  • Communicate project status and issues to the management and other stakeholders through meetings and key documents (program timelines, budget breakdowns, vendor management, resourcing etc.)
  • Interact with clients, industry peers, suppliers as required.  Including customer visits for project meetings and client visits in support of business development.
  • Prepare and facilitate the post-project evaluation - ensure lessons learned are shared/implemented across projects and stakeholders as needed, participate in continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • Expert user of on-line project and data-management tools (i.e. SharePoint). A background in Medicinal Chemistry, Biology or DMPK - Broad drug discovery expertise from more than 5 years in the industry, covering different therapeutic areas and project phases across multiple target classes and gene families. Track record in delivering multiple clinical candidates.
  • Higher degree (MSc or PhD) or equivalent in biological sciences or relevant subject. At least 5 years’ experience of drug discovery project leadership in industry – therapeutic area expertise eg oncology/CNS
  • Strong project planning, leadership, negotiation and communication skills as well as an ability to contribute creative and practical solutions to problems.
  •  Excellent organization, communication (oral and written) and attention to detail, committed to quality deliverables and on time 
  • Passionate about drug discovery with the ability to inspire effective teamwork and motivate staff to obtain project objectives; matrix team player.
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  •  Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, and comply with company policies.
  •  Advanced computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, power point, project management software, microsoft project, etc.)
  •   Travel is required 10% of the time
  • Broad knowledge of the drug discovery products and services technical and commercial spaces.

What about the tech?

All our code is in Git. Our services are written in Go and we make extensive use of SQL with both Postgres and duckDB.  We do not use an ORM.  We use AWS but our architecture remains cloud agnostic.  Frontends are written in Svelte with JS and SCSS with a sprinkle of Swift and Java for native where low level device access is needed.

 

There’s no need to know everything from day one! If you are stronger on one side than the other it is fine.  Don’t worry if you’re more familiar with other languages or frameworks so long as you’re keen on learning we can help you get up to speed.

How will this role have an impact?

The Swift Action Response Coordinator will work to reduce the turnaround time between members calling in to locate late providers, reduce cancellations of visits as a result of a provider being late and convert the cancellations of visits due to late providers into reschedules.

Work Location: This is a fully remote role.  We will supply you with all of the necessary equipment to do your job.  

Working Hours/Schedules: 
It is critical for our Coordinators to cover normal hours of operation for providers and members, so applicants must be able and willing to work a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays.  When you are on a weekend rotation, you will work either a Saturday or a Sunday but not both.

Typical daily hours cover 10AM to 7PM, so we will be looking for some members of our team residing in Pacific or Mountain time zone to help cover these hours. 

What will you do?

  • Be on time, ready to work at assigned work location on a daily basis
  • Manage time effectively
  • Respond well to coaching and supervision
  • Actively demonstrates teamwork at all times
  • Answer the phone at all times-minimize voicemails.

Compensation and Benefits

Our anticipated compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets, and the range below indicates the low end of the lowest-compensated market to the high end of the highest-compensated market. This position is eligible for new hire and ongoing grants of restricted stock units depending on employee and company performance. Salary Range
$254,000$270,000 USD

The Technical Support Team:

The L2 Support team plays an integral role in the customer lifecycle and serves as the second line of escalation for technical support. The Opportunity:

JW Player is hiring an L2 Support Engineer for our global Technical Support team, serving customers across EMEA, APAC, and AMER regions. This role involves closely collaborating with our technical support teams to provide top-notch support.

Support Engineers at JW Player work at the code level, ensuring the expert implementation of our technology for the best online video viewing experience. This position offers exposure to the entire online video ecosystem, interacting with content creators, publishers, advertisers, and audiences.

Support Engineers are crucial to JW Player's customer success and rapid growth. The ideal candidate is a quick learner with a diverse technical skill set, excelling in a fast-paced, self-starting environment.

As a L2 Support Engineer, you will: 

  • Provide second-line technical software support to JW Player customers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in the escalation out-of-hours roster, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to customer needs.
  • Effectively manage and prioritize tasks in line with established service level agreements, consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Utilize various resources, including JW Player’s internal knowledge base, Learning Management System (LMS), user guides, and web research, to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Actively contribute to enhancing JW Player’s support systems and practices, ensuring they evolve to meet changing customer needs and technological advancements.
  • Escalate more complex issues to Third Line/Engineering/DevOps teams.
  • Generate incident reports and escalate recurring issues to the product team.
  • Educate customers on best practices for using our offerings, including our JavaScript web player and JW Dashboard.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of support systems and practices.
  • Attend regular technical company meetings and training workshops.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Requirements for the role:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on customer success.
  • Proficiency in front-end web development languages and frameworks.
  • Some development experience in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JS, Node, etc.).
  • Experience in navigating and troubleshooting Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Methodical and disciplined problem-solving and fault-finding attributes.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience in providing internal training and writing documentation.
  • Background in providing 2nd line support on tickets and adhering to service level agreements.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Strong experience supporting B2B customers with bespoke projects and products.

Bonus Points:

  • Proficient in Android (Kotlin/Java) or iOS (Swift) development.
  • Familiarity with video encoding, ad networks, content management platforms, and streaming protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing components, particularly with Amazon Web Services.
  • Expertise in video-related tools and workflows, including implementing Digital Rights Management (DRM) and managing Server Side Ad Insertion (SSAI).
  • Knowledge of streaming technologies, such as Unified Streaming, HLS, and DASH protocols.
