About this team and role:

We’re growing the Mozilla Ads product team, focused on display advertising in Mozilla products that is privacy-respecting and values-aligned. You will be working on the team responsible for designing, building, and owning the core systems that support advertising in clients (Firefox, MDN, Pocket, Fakespot, etc). You and your team will be the subject matter experts when it comes to advertising, providing guidance and shepherding to various product teams across Mozilla.

About the opportunity

Northspyre is looking for aSenior Software Engineerto join our fast-growing, venture-backed start-up team. This is an opportunity to make a huge impact at a start-up disrupting the 10.5 trillion dollar real estate industry. We are a lean organization with minimal red-tape that prides itself on getting things done efficiently and effectively.

We are looking for an experienced engineer to take part in the product development and deployment lifecycle and help to build out critical integrations to our platform. As part of our small team of developers, you'll collaborate with everyone on building out the team, process, & tech stack as we work on growing both our team, business and technology.

 

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining integration flows from our core application to third party services using an array of different APIs.
  • Collaborate and review code with other developers in engineering to ensure each integration maintains a consistent level of technical standards as set by the team.
  • Work directly with Customer Success to ensure that the integrations meet the needs of our customers.
  • Troubleshoot, identify, and fix any issues that arise during customer integration.
  • Designing and building elegant and user-friendly UIs end-to-end.
  • Ensuring site reliability and troubleshooting production issues.
  • Collaborating with Customer Support and Product teams to handle client requests and build new features and products.
  • Leading, mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers.
  • Participate in designing and building systems for maximum performance, reliability and scalability.

We are looking for people who have:

  • 5+ years of industry experience writing high-quality code in a collaborative environment
  • 3+ years of Python development experience
  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • Strong knowledge and experience in programming languages like Python, JavaScript, Java
  • Strong background in UI development and UX design. Fundamental knowledge of browser technologies like HTML and CSS is necessary.
  • Knowledge and experience in front-end technologies and frameworks like React, Webpack and NPM.
  • Experience designing and building REST endpoints.
  • Knowledge and experience in web frameworks like Flask/Django.
  • Experience/familiarity with AWS and/or other cloud technologies.
  • Experience/familiarity with Relational Databases like Postgres.
  • Experience/familiarity with Unix/Linux environments.
  • An understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to take ownership and deliver results
  • Eagerness to learn new practices and technologies that will improve our overall architecture
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience and 5+ years of experience.

  • Desire to mentor software engineers in all aspects of their engineering skill-sets
  • Experience/familiarity with AWS and/or other cloud technologies

About this team and role:
 
We’re growing the Mozilla Ads product team, focused on display advertising in Mozilla products that is privacy-respecting and values-aligned. You will be responsible for designing, building, and owning the core systems, both front-end and back-end, that support advertising in clients (Firefox, MDN, Pocket, Fakespot, etc). You and your team will be the subject matter experts when it comes to advertising, providing guidance and shepherding to various product teams across Mozilla.
 
What you’ll do:
  • Design and deliver long term projects that impact multiple teams across Mozilla and that support the Mozila Ads system
  • Ensure that the software your team delivers is high quality, measurable, and maintainable.
  • Participate in development of industry leading privacy preserving ad technology.
  • Mentor others by stewarding some of your responsibilities to more junior engineers
