Position Purpose

The Administrative Support Specialist, Resource Development will establish and provide effective administrative support and project management within the Resource Development (RD) department of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). The Specialist manages a variety of position related responsibilities in primary support of the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and in managing similar duties for a department senior director including, but not limited to, calendar management, scheduling, travel and expense management, project management, creating, editing, and revising presentations, and other administrative needs.

This position will directly report to the Chief Development Officer (CDO) with a dotted line report of comparable responsibilities to the Senior Director, New Business Development and Corporate Engagement. The Administrative Support Specialist, Resource Development, will also deliver general administrative support to other department leads, as directed by the CDO.

The ideal candidate should bring bring extensive experience in general business operations (department or organization-wide), advanced administrative support, project management and advanced internal and external customer service delivery within resource development, marketing, communications, or similar department, preferably supporting multiple leaders.

Location: United States (100% Remote)

Travel: Approximately 10%

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs daily, high level administrative support to both the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and a department leader by completing a broad variety of administrative tasks through appropriate prioritization and skill including, but not limited to, calendar management, travel arrangements, expenses, event planning, and any other administrative tasks. Ensures confidentiality of sensitive issues.
  • Manages internal and external RD communications with responsiveness and clarity including materials management, data collection, file management, and vendor management.
  • Leads communication and coordination of team meetings and activities; provides logistical support for events managed by the RD / Conference and Events team.
  • As assigned, provides department-wide administrative support for key projects, meetings, and resources.
  • Directly supports project-based work and activities of the Chief Development Officer, Senior Director and as assigned, other department leaders to ensure items are delivered on time, and within budget and scope.
  • Develops spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and other process-oriented documents for department leaders.
  • Collaborates with a large group of stakeholders across the internal organization and externally, as needed, to ensure functional specification and requirement documents and all requested information are met.
  • Supports cross team communication and collaboration initiatives including timelines, deliverables, and document maintenance. Makes recommendations to improve processes for productivity.
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive work and activity documentation in a variety of platforms including but not limited to: SharePoint, Office 365, Asana, Adobe virtual meeting tools and Salesforce.
  • Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees, departments, Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) agencies, vendors, and partners.
  • Directly manages administrative needs supporting board committee meetings and BBBS network activities; takes notes/meeting minutes, where applicable.
  • Works in concert and collaboration with other administrative and operations roles across the organization.

Education & Related Work Experience

Position Purpose

The Director, Cause Marketing (D-CM) will be a direct report to the Senior Director, Cause Marketing and will have primary responsibility for leading and supporting activities associated with corporate cause marketing activities. The D-CM will be an active contributor to the fundraising efforts at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) and will provide the leadership and expertise required to grow the organization’s capabilities around cause marketing, both at the National and local Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBSA) Agency level.

BBBSA currently has a diverse and active portfolio of accounts, and this role aims to deepen and develop those partnerships while also continuing to prospect and launch new, innovative alliances. To do so, the D-CM will have four priority work areas: 1) Stewarding existing cause marketing and corporate development partnerships 2) Building out and executing fundraising concepts associated with new cause marketing partnerships 3) Supporting the overall growth goals for annual campaign revenue and 4) Ensuring all components of assigned partnerships are achieved, tracked, and maintained at best-in-class standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively lead and manage the day-to-day processes related to the strategic development, design, execution, and evaluation of BBBSA’s existing cause marketing/corporate development accounts.
  • Build pipeline of prospects to generate partnership relationships of $250,000+, with portfolio accountability of $4,000,000+, including new revenue achievement annually of $500,000+.
  • Research and identify top prospects to support growth goals associated with BBBSA’s cause marketing initiatives (point of sale (POS) omni-channel campaigns). Develop plans for entry, solicitation and securing new business partners.
  • Identify and assist with POS technology needs and system supports used in corporate partner fundraising and cause marketing strategies.
  • Engage leaders throughout the BBBS Agency Network in National plans for executing integrated partnership opportunities and to bring fundraising proposals/agreements to scale.
  • Develop and maintain proposal/presentation resources, as well as a cause-marketing specific resource library used in pitching prospective partners, with the goal of supporting incremental revenue, awareness, and impact at the National level and amongst the BBBSA Network of 230+ local agencies.
  • Create and maintain corporate sales associate/employee engagement best practice templates and tactics to assist BBBSA corporate partners in the execution of cause marketing campaigns.
  • Initiate collaborative work with all BBBSA team members, including integrated marketing, public relations, creative, web, communications, celebrities, advertising, etc. to produce comprehensive cause marketing strategies that build awareness and drive consumer engagement for cause partnerships. Look for opportunities for extreme collaboration with other teams to amplify partnerships, brand message and understanding.
  • In collaboration with Resource Development team members, track the status and deliverables for each partner as it relates to contractual agreements (fund distribution, number of communications, resources provided, etc.). Assist corporate partners with solution development and management of key performance indicators.
  • Maintain current knowledge of philanthropic brands and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategies to develop and help deploy partnership proposals that align with corporate giving trends. Ensure activation concepts align with mission-centered engagements, employee engagement, and consumer activation trends.
  • Attend relevant corporate partner and BBBSA events, conferences, or webinars to discover new initiatives and/or to identify prospects aligned to BBBSA strategic growth plans.
  • Support the key deliverables of the Corporate Development team including conference sponsorship, year-end giving, key affinity month activations, donor impact and reporting (annual report, society recognition), 3rd party resources, internal systems alignment, and Network activations.
  • Assist in the design and optimization of the strategic partnerships process and account management cadence across the Network utilizing Salesforce and other internal project management resources (Asana, SharePoint).

Position Purpose

The Director, Creative and Content is a member of the Marketing Department at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). This role reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and is responsible for leading the creative team and developing creative strategies along with accompanying collateral across all visual communication channels – including print, video, digital and live event/experiential – to raise awareness of and increase engagement with key audiences of BBBSA’s work and mission.

This position also works across the BBBSA federation of 230+ local agencies to design and deliver an enterprise-wide strategic vision and an excellent constituent digital experience. As a leader in the BBBSA Marketing Department, the Director is responsible for developing and executing brand style guides, enhancements and creative constructs that advance our brand, expand our audience, and establish BBBSA as the leading J.E.D.I. (justice, equity, diversity, inclusion) focused youth empowerment organization.

Location:United States (Remote)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Organizational Leadership

  • Partner across BBBSA departments to develop creative and content resources that advance BBBSA strategic plan priorities, brand strategy, and integrated marketing plans to drive organizational and marketing objectives while deepening brand awareness and relevance
  • Demonstrate an eye for great design/aesthetic and what it takes to achieve it; Champion the creative process and articulate a vision with clarity, rationale and constructive feedback every step of the way
  • Own the brand; Protect the legacy and brand equity of our 120 year-old organization while exploring new territories and brand evolutions to ensure our timeless mission remains urgent, necessary and relevant to target and mass audience
  • Manage the day-to-day operational and financial affairs of the creative team, including supervision of staff, photography, video production, creative development and coordination of all functions and activities
  • Lead internal stakeholders within the National Office and Federation through the creative process; Present ideas to and engage with cross-department leaders to build strategic narratives for each creative solution
  • Foster a collaborative environment among the marketing department, communications department, resource development department, external partners and consultants to ensure brand consistency, creative innovation, and promote visual communication as a vital part of BBBSA’s commitment to JEDI-focused youth empowerment

Creative Strategy, Direction & Execution

  • Evaluate and interpret marketing and communication needs of internal teams and stakeholders to identify and articulate problems and solutions
  • Develop and oversee creative and visual branding projects; Ensure BBBSA’s successful brand evolution across mediums, including web, print, video, digital, multimedia, partnership ideation, thought leadership, events, and experiential projects
  • Conceptualize and present creative strategies, campaigns, tactics, and visual solutions that address challenges identified in a creative brief or request; Create design systems for staff to work within to ensure brand and campaign consistency
  • Develop and execute creative projects and campaigns in line with the BBBSA brand that engage and activate key audiences; Manage the creative development and execution for projects from ideation to pitch to final execution; Translate concepts and ideas in a compelling way for key audiences that drives action
  • Responsible for development and brand consistency for all BBBSA presentations, including partner presentation template, high-profile pitch decks, strategic initiatives and executive visibility
  • Identify opportunities for creative solutions for existing BBBSA initiatives as well as department-led projects; Collaborate with other marketing, communications & resource development leads to plan campaigns, navigate complex problem-solving, and build scopes of work and projects that set team up for success.
  • Oversee development of creative and content toolkits, templates and resources that can be utilized by BBBSA and local BBBS agencies; Oversee Digital Asset Management Platform to ensure seamless delivery and accessibility to BBBS agencies

Manage Teams and Stakeholders

  • Mentor and foster the professional development of the creative team; Manage and mentor our in-house creative and content staff in the advancement of their craft and career goals
  • Identify, engage, and manage External Creative Partners, including but not limited to, agency relationships and contractors
  • Present at regional/national conferences to share knowledge and provide creative and brand experience-training as needed
  • Act as an ambassador for the brand throughout the Federation, ensuring the organization establishes and maintains a consistent brand-centric focus through collaboration and engagement with local agency teams
  • Demonstrate excellence in upholding and evolving the BBBSA brand, and a sense of what is appropriate for the BBBSA brand and JEDI commitment.
  • Demonstrate understanding of BBBSA's mission, values, goals and priorities and an ability to ensure that all are considered in developing communications strategies.
  • Execute and/or delegate/manage the execution of print, digital and motion creative through layout, design, illustration, photography, editing and production to ensure work is delivered on time while maintaining a high standard of quality
  • Plan, produce, and direct photo/video production and content creation in collaboration with internal team members and external partners; Some travel required

Position Purpose

Through the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) Professional Fellowship Program* the Project Coordinator, Program Scale is a direct report of the Director, Program Development & Scale. They will support Big Brothers Big Sisters of America’s (BBBSA) national office Program & Impact Team with excellent coordination and administration of program partnerships and development of playbooks to scale best practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program Best Practices and Materials

  • Coordinates meetings with agency leaders at different levels to understand and gain insights about program implementation, innovation, and lessons learned.
  • Summarizes meeting notes, identifies themes, documents action items and maintains records through multiple platforms.
  • Assists team members in developing and sharing best practices, writing playbooks, documenting lessons learned.
  • Collaborates with other departments (Learning & Development, Marketing, Communications, etc.) to upload and disseminate programmatic materials to the BBBS network and other audiences.

Partnership Coordination

  • Provides project management supports to the Program & Impact team in establishing project overviews, timelines and tracking key tasks through Asana or other project management systems.
  • Coordinates meetings within the Program & Impact team, across various departments and with external stakeholders (agency leaders, consultants, etc.).
  • Distributes documents, information, instructions, and other resources to ensure both internal and external stakeholders have tools and resources to be effective.
  • Documents progress against project plan, updates leaders and identifies implications for the overall project and connections to other ongoing projects/grants.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for projects when multiple units are involved with the same project to ensure effective and synergistic team actions.
  • Communicates consistently and clearly with Project Leads, team members, and other key stakeholders to keep the projects on track.
  • Proactively identifies potential stakeholders for involvement in projects and recommends when and how others can make meaningful contributions to a project’s success.
  • Directly supports staff involved to ensure that the project is completed, on time, on budget and to the satisfaction of funder expectations.

The Senior Director will have accountability for new revenue generation individually and as a team and will bring and build upon a proven track record in achieving year-over-year retention, contract success, and deliverables success, while driving revenue growth and activation opportunities through various channels for a portfolio of $15-35M+ with personal accountability for key accounts and annual new revenue goals. The Senior Director, Corporate Engagement will model and actively demonstrate expertise in sophisticated program-based funding models, grant activation and restricted fundraising.

Location:United States (100% Remote); candidates located on the East Coast (EST) preferred

Travel: Approximately is 25 - 30%

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Direct Account Management:

  • Successfully lead and activate large scale partners who individually generate $1M+ in nationwide fundraising annually through complex integrated plans, ranging from sponsorship to grant based funding.
  • Develop and execute strategies to effectively manage partners, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, timely reporting, and successful implementation of funded activations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align grant-funded initiatives with organizational priorities and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partners to support account management, development, and fundraising efforts.
  • Achievement of budget goals annually, along with successful forecasting and growth goal achievement.
  • Partner Activation Strategy and Management:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to activate secured funders, ensuring successful partnerships across corporations and brands supported through grants, sponsorship, and other funding mechanisms for the entire portfolio of accounts across the team.
  • Manage the active account portfolio for over $20M, growing to $35M, of partners, ensuring effective stewardship and maximizing the impact of funds towards the organization's mission.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for expanding partnerships with existing funders, exploring additional avenues for collaboration and support including, and not limited to, employee giving and activation, brand integration and leadership opportunities.
  • Continuously evaluate the account portfolio to identify opportunities for optimization, expansion, and maximization of resources to ensure mission impact and support organizational sustainability.
  • Generate regular reports on portfolio performance, presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership. Conduct in-depth analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Revenue Growth:

  • Proactively pursue new partnership opportunities that support key funding priorities of the organization.
  • Proactively identify funding opportunities and initiatives aligned to partner interest areas for expanded growth and deepened relationships.
  • Drive revenue growth within existing partnerships by identifying and capitalizing on diverse opportunities, including cause marketing, employee giving, Employee Resource Group (ERG) engagement, grants, sponsorships, product integration, and marketing activities.
  • Partner with the Sr. Director, New Business Development and Sr. Director, Cause Marketing in the development of high-quality funding proposals and account activation initiatives, working closely with programmatic and finance teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and inspire a remote team of account management professionals. Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment with accountability for achieving account portfolio success.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, network leadership and program management, to ensure seamless execution of partnership initiatives and alignment with organizational goals.

Reporting, Communication & Key Success Metrics:

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track year-over-year retention, contract success, and deliverables success. Take proactive measures to address any challenges and enhance overall partner satisfaction.
  • Activate the Philanthropy Operations team to ensure successful activation of partner objectives, reporting and organization impact.
  • Generate regular reports on the performance of corporate partnerships. Communicate insights and recommendations to senior leadership to inform strategic decision-making.

People Management

Education & Related Work Experience

Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing, communications (or related education) or equivalent relevant experience

Years of Related Work Experience: A minimum of ten (10) + years proven, successful resource development/fundraising, sales and/or account management experience; successful track record with planning, managing and initiating corporate relationships within the non-profit sector require; experience working with high level corporate representatives and volunteer board members is critical. Successful 6-figure partnership pitch to execution experience required with emphasis on mission-based investment models, grant funding, and restricted giving initiatives. Demonstrated successful experience in leading, supervising and developing staff is required.

Skills and Knowledge:Demonstrated track record of conceptualizing, strategizing, planning, and managing corporate engagement strategies; Demonstrated successful experience in leading, influencing and/or supervising and developing staff, directly or indirectly; Successful 6-figure+ partnership development and execution experience; Excellent team working skills; ability to collaborate; Advanced interpersonal skills; Highly organized in approach, with ability to set and manage priorities; Ability to work independently in achieving results consistently on deadline; Ability to build and manage project budgets; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to manage complex, highly sensitive matters with high attention to detail; Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, fundraising software, and database systems including Salesforce, and SharePoint (Asana preferred, but not required)
