About the Role

As the Senior Accountant, General Ledger, you will be responsible for general ledger (GL) areas for cash, prepaids, payroll, benefits, accruals, and other ad hoc requests. You will focus on process improvements utilizing software such as Parabola & Alteryx, data analysis, and improving current processes. You will also support strategic initiatives as we continue to evolve our business here at Stitch Fix. You will have the chance to serve as a key contributor to a rapidly growing and changing business environment and strengthen your understanding of both operational and technical accounting processes.

  • Be responsible for accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures for certain key balance sheets and income statement accounts (including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis), and coordinating the preparation of monthly management reporting packages. Key areas of responsibility will include cash, prepaids, payroll, benefits, and accruals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various organizations within the Company, including People & Culture, Operations, FP&A, Legal, and IT, to support the accounting close process.
  • Assist in automating existing manual processes through the use of Alteryx, Parabola, and other tools.
  • Support the Corporate Accounting Manager in enhancing the Company’s existing accounting procedures and SOX controls. Seek and execute opportunities to improve accounting operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare audit schedules requested by the auditors to support our quarterly reviews and annual audit.
  • Assist and prepare internal management reporting documents to support company decision making and analysis.
  • Assist in testing SOX controls as part of Management’s testing program in areas other than your own.
  • Support ad-hoc projects as appropriate.

  • You have 4-5+ years of work experience. CPA and large public accounting firms and GL experience is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Our anticipated compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets, and the range below indicates the low end of the lowest-compensated market to the high end of the highest-compensated market. This position is eligible for new hire and ongoing grants of restricted stock units depending on employee and company performance. About the Role:

Bloomreach seeks an experienced Revenue Accountant to join our Revenue Accounting team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at problem solving, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a strong revenue technical accounting background.

Reporting to the Senior Revenue Accounting Manager (US), the Revenue Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate revenue recognition, compliance with accounting standards, and timely month-close and financial reporting.

Your job will be to:

  • Evaluate sales contracts to determine the appropriate treatment in accordance with GAAP, documenting management’s conclusions with appropriate references to ASC 606
  • Own the closing of the revenue system (NetSuite/ARM) and month-end close workpapers (journal entries, account reconciliations, preparation of accruals/reserves, internal reporting, etc).
  • Understand and analyze contract asset and contract liability accounts activity
  • Drive revenue related business process and system enhancement initiatives
  • Assist on system enhancement and new products (SKU) end-to-end user acceptance testing
  • Assist the Sr. Revenue Accounting Manager on various projects on an ad hoc basis
  • Prepare deliverables for external auditors related to the review and audit of financial statements
  • Prepare financial details and analysis for Finance leadership

You have the following experience and qualities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Certified Public Accountant or in process of obtaining certification
  • 1-2 years of experience in public accounting preferred or
  • 2-3 years of software/SaaS revenue accounting experience within a public company preferred
  • Strong technical accounting experience with software/SaaS revenue recognition under ASC 606
  • Strong ability to recognize problems, gather data, draw valid conclusions, document conclusions, and effectively communicate information to internal stakeholders

The Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting performs a full spectrum of financial reporting and accounting assignments, that ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The role includes preparing and reviewing various supporting schedules used in quarterly and year end reporting. The role also includes preparing / reviewing journal entries and supporting schedules for complex accounts primarily relating to equity transactions as part of the monthly close process. Duties may include:

Specific job responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the preparation of all aspects of SEC reporting, including preparation of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, annual Proxy statement, disclosure checklists, footnote preparation, and financial statement tie-outs.
  • Support effective preparation of the quarterly earnings releases and other investor relations presentations and analysis.
  • Maintain appropriate standards of internal control to ensure the accuracy and quality of financial statements produced and in support of SOX compliance efforts.
  • Perform quarterly closing and reporting tasks including preparing account reconciliation, roll-forwards, cashflow and equity statements and other schedules; identify items shown in the closing/reporting process and propose solutions through research.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and reporting tasks relating to stock-based compensation, EPS calculation, and other administrative tasks. Stock based compensation experience including service-based RSUs, performance and service-based RSUs, and performance, market and service-based RSUs.
  • Provide support to external auditors during audits and interim reviews
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting, including research, assessments, and position papers regarding topics of interest.
  • Experience with financial reporting and xBRL drafting software. 
  • Other special projects and duties as requested or assigned.

About you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field 
  • 5+ years of accounting experience (audit, consulting, and/or corporate accounting) 
  • 2+ years of experience as a Senior Auditor or Senior Accountant in a SEC Reporting capacity
  • Experience in Sarbanes-Oxley-compliant environment
  • Strong understanding and proficiency of U.S. GAAP
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication ability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with a variety of personnel both internally and externally  

Preferred Qualifications:

About the Job 

Financial reporting month-end close:

  • Assist with preparing revenue reporting package, including revenue-related flux comments, revenue deep dive, and revenue-related disclosures
  • Record journal entries to account for End User revenue activity during the month
  • Perform reconciliations for unbilled accruals, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable

Deal desk contract review:

  • Review revenue and partnership promotion contracts, summarize contracts, and assess revenue accounting for ASC606 compliance

Reporting operations:

  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy

  • Collaborate with various teams such as Business Development, Financial Systems, and Engineering to provide guidance on the impact of contract terms and ensure data readiness for month-end accounting
  • Support year end and quarterly audit procedures by providing flux commentary and auditor requested audit documentation

 

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
  • 4+ years total accounting experience, including public accounting experience
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and internal control best practices
  • Eager to take on new tasks and projects
  • Ability to thrive in change and ambiguity
  • Strong written, oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills and good business acumen
  • Experience identifying problematic areas and determining root cause
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Big 4 audit experience
  • CPA or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with Oracle Financials, SAP or ERP system
  • Experience with BI tools like PowerBI, Tableau, and Mode a plus

About the Role:

Our finance team is expanding to support our company's growth! Reporting to our Director of Accounting, you will assist with managing month-end close, including the preparation and posting of journals. This person will have a strong collaboration with our broader Finance team to implement efficient accounting procedures. This role will require strong communication and organizational skills to ensure the company’s consolidated financial statements are prepared timely and accurately. This could be the ideal position for you if you are a detail-oriented, analytical thinker with high standards and a talent for creating financial statements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and review daily operational accounting processes; record journal entries, complex general ledger account reconciliations, and support timely month-end close
  • In-depth experience with month-end balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, expenses, and payroll
  • Assist in implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives, including implementation of new ERP system and transition from outsourced accounting operations
  • Operate with minimum supervision
  • Special projects and impromptu reporting upon request
  • Participate in the team’s month, quarter, and year-end close procedures, iterating these workflows as needed
  • Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
  • Respond to and provide support for external auditor and tax accountant requests
  • Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

Requirements:

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
  • CPA and recent Big Four experience a plus
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Closing Processes
  • Strong spreadsheet and data management skills (e.g., pivot tables, vlookups)
  • A solid understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • ERP system experience 
  • Strong written communication skills. Effectively interacts with others at all levels internally and externally – within and outside of Finance. Ability to tailor communication to the audience to achieve desired results
  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

100% remote and must be able to work in Pacific Standard Time zone
