Job Description

The Cash Commerce team is building ways for customers to take their money further. As part of the Cash Commerce team, Afterpay is transforming the way we pay by allowing customers to buy products immediately and pay for their purchases over four installments. Started as a checkout solution on merchant websites, we now have our own app which millions of customers use regularly. Not only do we offer easy access to in-network merchants from our mobile app, we also have app exclusive merchants and gift cards that customers can shop right from our app.

We are embarking on a new 0 to 1 initiative to help our merchants find value based on their user data.This is a rare opportunity to become a founding member of a complex and transformative, multi-year initiative in its nascent stage. 

We are looking for an engineering leader who is willing to take a complex problem, break it down into smaller parts and run with it. Successful engineers on this team are eager to take principled risks, get motivated by challenges and have a bias toward delivering value to our customers. 

As a Principal engineer on the Cash Commerce team, you will:

  • Lead the ideation, strategy, design, implementation of 0 to 1 products and infrastructure
  • Partner closely with a full stack development team (engineers, designers, PMs, data scientists, business operations) to ship innovative and incredible experiences at scale
  • Collaborate with multiple teams at Block distributed across different time zones
  • Help structure our team’s processes and operational excellence
  • Lead and participate in critical technical, design, and product discussions 

Qualifications

You have:

  • 10+ years of software development or equivalent experience
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to distill and communicate complex user data to make eng design decisions and determine roadmap prioritization
  • Experience in building partner integrations
  • Experience working with data science and privacy/risk team
  • Ability to translate complex data sets into actionable insights for stakeholders
  • Experience building backend systems with high availability, scalability, and reliability
  • Proven collaboration skills to lead a project across multiple teams
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers
  • Exceptional written and verbal technical communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Highly preferred:

  • Experience in user data platform, advertising, and identity. (Eg. worked in user identity space for marketing/targeting or integration with DSPs, Ad-managers)

  • Extensive experience in web markup languages (HTML5 and CSS3), backend technologies such (NodeJS and Java), front-end build tools (Webpack, ESbuild, and Vite), and micro front-end architecture

  • Proven record of delivering large features (spanning ~1+ year) and large teams from start to finish with strong collaboration, communication, and ownership

  • Hands-on experience setting up and maintaining ReactJS applications with a substantial contributor base (dozens of active weekly contributors)

  • A track record of active contributions to front-end open source projects

  • Deeply comfortable with and able to apply software development design principles (SOLID, DRY) in daily work

As a Frontend Engineer, you’ll work with a cross-functional team of web, mobile, and backend engineers to help solve complex problems that will directly influence the direction of the digital asset space. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to design and deliver high-quality features on Gemini platform.

  • Own the DevOps lifecycle for a product; building, validating and maintaining high quality products through its lifetime.

Quality Engineer

At Acquia, quality engineering drives the quality tool chain and process in an open and collaborative environment. Qualifications:

Job Description

Mission:

The Coldfusion Engineer is responsible for developing internal and external data-driven web based applications based on specifications from a project manager. This individual will also work with the project manager and QA Analyst to debug the code, put the code into production, maintain the code during its complete lifecycle, as well as go into as existing code base, understand the inter-workings of that code, troubleshoot bugs, and add new features to that code. The applications will be developed in ColdFusion, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, and built on an Oracle database. This individual will work closely with the senior web application engineer as well as the other technology professionals and project stakeholders.

  • Develop new features in ColdFusion / MS SQL Server
  • Develop front-end in React front-end of a ColdFusion driven backend
  • Maintain current documentation for all applications supported by the developer
  • Write and debug Microsoft SQL Server stored procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, problems, and errors encountered across our web properties, internal applications, and systems as reported or experienced.
  • Provide expertise to influence project, initiative, and maintenance technical direction during discovery, planning, and implementation stages.

Qualifications

  • This position is player/coach and we are targeting someone with 2+ years of experience managing a small team of developers. 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalency in a computer science related field required
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role working on web-based products.
  • Strong knowledge of ColdFusion required
  • MVC Framework knowledge very beneficial
  • Strong knowledge of SQL required
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript beneficial
  • Knowledge and experience with other languages such as PL/SQL, Java/JSP, jQuery, HTML 4/5, CSS, PHP, Ruby, ASP.NET beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Bootstrap, React, Angular frontend frameworks beneficial
  • Familiarity with Oracle and/or other relational database experience

Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the development of strategic roadmaps and conceptual architectures to modernize VA Health Data Management (HDM) systems, with a keen focus on interoperability using multiple standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7, REST, SOAP, FTP, and Fileman).
  • Work with various stakeholders to build an enterprise alignment around technology strategy, standards, roadmaps, and terminology.
  • Act as the technical strategy advocate, resolving programmatic challenges, and advocating for the adoption of innovative solutions.
  • Assess the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.
  • Provide expert Systems Engineering support to the EHRM Interoperability team, reviewing and enhancing integration and interface designs, API strategies, and policies.
  • Collaborate on formal technology evaluations, proofs of concept, client demonstrations, and solutioning presentations, ensuring buy-in and alignment with healthcare standards and regulations.
  • Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.
  • Lead and coordinate with other architects, technical leaders, and program teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Perform technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications for cloud computing environments.
  • Offer consultation on data center migration plans and assess current internal and external data center and cloud environments.
  • Support the execution of strategies, translating high-level plans into actionable items with a focus on interoperability and secure data access.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise software development, with a deep understanding of healthcare systems and interoperability standards.
  • Proven expertise in building various data integration components across diverse health record domains.
  • Extensive experience with InterSystems technology and migration/integration of disparate infrastructures.
  • Experience in bridging Oracle Health and VistA systems for seamless interoperability.
  • Proficiency in developing backend and frontend components to enable secure access to patient data.
  • Solid understanding of CRM systems and integrating Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) technologies such as ServiceNow, Mulesoft, Tableau, and Salesforce.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow solutions, including service portal UIs and scripted REST APIs.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise architecture modeling tools such as Sparx EA, Mega, Visual Paradigm, etc., is a plus.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative evaluation skills, with experience conducting impact assessments in healthcare settings.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to lead formal presentations and articulate complex technical concepts.
  • Previous experience in the VA or Department of Defense (DoD) healthcare systems is advantageous.
