ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze learning needs and objectives.
• Design, develop, and implement instructional materials, including but not limited to e-learning modules, videos, simulations, and assessments.
• Utilize instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create engaging and interactive learning experiences.
• Develop clear learning objectives and align instructional content with desired outcomes.
• Select appropriate instructional methods and technologies to enhance learning effectiveness.
• Ensure that instructional materials are accessible, culturally sensitive, and comply with relevant standards and regulations.
• Conduct thorough quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of instructional materials.
• Evaluate the success of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in instructional design and adult education.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the organization's training and development initiatives.
• Lead efforts with business subject matter experts for content validity to achieve desired learning outcomes
• Utilize effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation techniques

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, instructional technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in instructional design and e-learning development.
• Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools such as (Articulate360, Lectora, Information Mapping, Camtasia, Vyond, or similar solutions)
• Strong understanding of instructional design principles, learning theories, and adult learning principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Creative and innovative mindset with a passion for designing engaging and interactive learning experiences.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Experience working with learning management systems (LMS) is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

SALARY RANGE: $90,000 - $100,000 / annually

• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and faculty members to design and develop online and blended courses that align with learning outcomes and pedagogical best practices.
• Apply instructional design principles to create engaging and interactive learning experiences, incorporating multimedia elements, assessments, and activities.
• Conduct needs assessments and analyzes existing course materials to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide guidance and support to faculty members in selecting appropriate instructional strategies and technologies to enhance student learning.
• Assist in selecting and integrating educational technologies, learning management systems, and multimedia tools to facilitate effective course delivery.
• Support and guide faculty in developing engaging instructional narratives for learners and drafting storyboards for multimedia production.
• Stay current with emerging trends and research in instructional design, educational technology, and higher education pedagogy, and share this knowledge with the team and faculty members.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of instructional designers, multimedia specialists, and project managers to ensure timely and successful course development and delivery.
• Conduct ongoing evaluations of courses and learning materials to assess their effectiveness and make necessary revisions and enhancements.

Job Description:

The Alchemy learning design team is growing! Alchemy seeks a Learning Designer who will partner with Educators to design and develop engaging and impactful learning experiences in support of the organizational needs supported by Alchemy’s offerings. The Learning Designer will utilize a creative approach to working with their SME/Educator partner by leveraging innovative learning technology solutions, a keen understanding of effective and agile design methods, and a robust technical aptitude. The Learning Designer will support continued growth by advancing learning design that is meaningful, learner-centric, and fully inclusive.

Role-Specific Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Instructional Design is desired.
• Experience working directly with workforce and college or university educators; specifically working with faculty at US-based higher education institutions to develop courses or programs.
• Demonstrated experience developing fully online (asynchronous and synchronous), blended, and hybrid courses and programs for adult learner populations.
• Ability to lead the Learning Design process and guide educators by generating ideas, providing examples, and explaining the process.
• Demonstrable experience implementing theory, research, and instructional design models to inform a creative process that ensures successful learning models.
• Ability to define clear, measurable learning outcomes at an appropriate Bloom’s taxonomy level.
• Ability to create high-quality and valid assessment plans and artifacts to assess learning formatively and summatively.
• Experience using quality assurance instruments or frameworks (e.g., QM, OLC, QLT) to inform course design.
• Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning and instructional materials accessibility.
• Demonstrated capability to use technology tools and platforms relevant to instructional design.
• Knowledge of uses for different technologies applicable to innovating on improving the student and educator experiences.
• Expertise in integrating active and authentic learning models into learning experience design, development, and delivery strategies.
• Experience storyboarding media products (videos, interactives).
