SquareTrade is hiring a Remote System Administrator

Job Description

We are looking for a system administrator that has worked in a Microsoft multi-forested domain environment and has expertise in Powershell automation with some basic linux knowledge. Our ideal candidate will be extremely comfortable with traditional system administration like certificate authorities, DNS, and identity management platforms as well as have a strong web API and coding background.

This role has a great mix of traditional system administration responsibilities and in-house system and web automation. While you will be on call at times and responsible for responding to tickets, you will also have the ability to resolve genuinely complex technical problems.  A bonus to this role is that you will be surrounded by a team who is also motivated by solving tough challenges. 

Ultimately, we’re eager to have someone join the team who’s energized by learning and growing their technical skill sets instead of simply meeting their ticket quota.

Qualifications

Traditional Microsoft System Administration toolsets and skills:

  • AD, DNS, DHCP, CA, PXE, SCCM/intune, Server OS, Desktop OS, MFA, IdP

  • Demonstrable automation skills and powershell expertise is significantly important for this role

  • Multi forest experienced and a strong understanding of virtual on premise and cloud corporate infrastructures

  • Web experience. Coding, debugging, interfacing with APIs. Soup to nuts knowledge of the front and back of the stack

Mac and linux experience:

  • Jamf administration desired and general comfortability with Macs preferred

  • Comfortable with multiple languages and a general vendor/technology agnostic nature

This person will be responsible for leading the security team in its planning, implementation, and operationalization of security controls to safeguard SquareTrade network, systems, and data.  They will work closely with various teams in the company to plan and implement these security measures. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Manage a team of security engineers on day to day tasks and long term projects
  • Design and implement security tooling to enhance threat detection
  • Develop and maintain reports on security and vulnerability posture
  • Forensic analysis of systems and applications residing on them
  • Perform security assessments and provide remediation recommendations
  • Research and provide guidance for implementation of security best practices
  • Assist internal organizations in remediation plans and processes

Qualifications

  • In depth understanding of Linux, Windows, and MacOS 
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Able to organize and track multiple workstreams

  • Experience with Qualys VMDR, Cloud Agents, management and configuration 
  • Understanding of security policies, standards, guidelines and their application
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
