Job Purpose

The Software Engineer will join the software development team in designing and implementing the development of our consumer-facing, high-traffic, e-commerce web platform.  We are looking for front end, back end, and fullstack developers from junior to mid-level.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops software solutions by identifying user and system requirements for anew customer-facing, high-traffic, e-commerce web platform
  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
  • Proposes and enforces best practices for software development lifecycle
  • Proposes coding standards and guidelines for the team to follow and enforce them through code review process
  • Supports and develops software engineers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities
  • Collaborates with team to brainstorm and creates new ideas and solutions
  • Designs the new web platform where security is part of the design consideration from the start
  • Ensures that the platform is designed and coded so ongoing deployment, support and maintenance can be streamlined, following the CI/CD process 
  • Performs technical analysis to support the effective and efficient development efforts
  • Writes code for key modules of the platform
  • Designs testing methodology including automated unit testing of the platform modules; able to do some testing if/when needed
  • Communicates on project/task status clearly and effectively with the management team, development team, and project managers
  • Moves fast, bias towards action, follows the cycle of coding, iterating, testing, deploying and optimizing websites
  • Other duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of programming experience, including REST API, Python, Django, and VueJS experience.
  • Excellent MySQL, Postgresql and ElasticSearch skills with hands-on experience
  • Hands-on experience of designing and architecting high traffic consumer e-commerce websites 
  • Experience with CICD tools, Git, Jira
  • Web application security (OWASP) 
  • Experience working with queuing tools (e.g. RabbitMQ)
  • Experience working with large remote team
  • Hands on experience with agile development process
  • Hands on experience of having worked on a large scale e-commerce platform
  • Hands on experience with AWS web services
  • Experience with CSS, Javascript and HTML
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Broad website/software/application development skills
  • DevOps skills are highly preferred

Qualifications

  • You are familiar with Cloud architecture, microservices, Power BI & MS Fabric
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, norms and standards for information security and data protection (e.g. ISO/IEC 27000 family, GDPR)
  • You have several years of experience in product, requirements and IT process management, ideally in the privacy and security environment

What you’ll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 to $270,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training and experience.

VetsEZ is seeking a Scrum Master to join a 100% remote team to support a large federal government project. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to lead Agile practices for multiple teams, assist with managing and prioritizing work through the backlog, creatively solve problems to accomplish outcomes, track team output and achievement, and identify continuous process improvement opportunities.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate scrum meetings and eliminate blockers (PI Planning, Retrospectives, Daily Stand-ups, Demos, etc.).
  • Lead and build relationships to encourage collaboration, transparency, and innovation. across a highly cross-functional Agile software development team supporting CI/CD.
  • Promote Agile quality practices, coordinate across organizations, and serve as a resource to answer questions.
  • Advise government personnel on improvements to the standardization of processes.
  • Work directly with senior-level client leadership teams in client-delivery engagements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific /technical discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience is required.
  • Experience in leading an Agile development team with automating application deployments, scaling, and management.
  • Proven experience with large-scale software development, data management, and software integration projects.
  • Experience facilitating briefings to senior leadership and the strong ability to capture actions resulting from meetings and requests.
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®) and Kanban agile methods is highly desired.
  • SAFe Certified Scrum Master.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Department of Veteran Affairs, tools, processes, and frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience with Project and Configuration Management tools (e.g., Jira, Rally Software, Github, etc.) is desirable.
  • Experienced in technical disciplines and technical background.
  • Ability to obtain a Government clearance

VetsEZ is seeking an Lead Technical Architectto be a part of a remote team to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. This candidate should have extensive experience and knowledge of designing, coding, testing, debugging and documenting software in a variety of programming languages. They will also have a knowledge of the latest programming languages and techniques along with extensive experience in creating strategies for developing IT systems and applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all aspects of Agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.
  • Has experience in evaluating alternative approaches and selecting optimal approaches.
  • Collaborate with Business Analyst and UX/UI designers to translate visual concepts into functional online experiences.
  • Ensure web pages are optimized for performance and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Implement front end solutions using HTML, CSS, JS - preferably with ReactJS. Experience with Redux for state management and Nginx servers.
  • Basic scripting language and frameworks (JavaScript, Angular, React, Node.js, etc.)
  • Experience with back-end languages such as Java 17 and Python and utilizing Java Spring Boot for microservices and APIs.
  • Basic knowledge of containers using Docker, experience in Kubernetes and EKS is a plus. Managing containers using Rancher.
  • Experience in Git Hub Actions and knowledge of the workflows is a must have.
  • Managing Databases with Postgres and extensive SQL knowledge.
  • Working alongside testers, knowledge in both Cypress and JUnit is useful.
  • Maintain and enhance existing web application based on user feedback and business requirements.
  • Adhere to best practices in web design, development, and security.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Lead the development team and production support team to ensure the applications are working as expected.
  • Work with the project manager to provide updates and progress on development projects.
  • Ability to Lead architecture enhancements by supporting enterprise and maintenance releases.
  • Engage with external team members and business owners to explain the existing and new applications or functionalities.
  • Maintain and assist in documenting processes to support other development efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role, with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Experience leading a dev team including developers and testers.
  • Experience working under a Solutions Architect for planning future roadmap.
  • Experience in Git Hub, especially Git Hub actions for the CI CD.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence within a GOV Space.
  • Proficiency in all areas of full stack, including front and back end and database.
  • Strong understanding of web development best practices and web security measures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies, preferably SAFe Agile.
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
