  • Lead a small team focused on making our applications fast and reliable, and building internal tools to help other engineering teams write and ship code efficiently.
  • Build a team that is not only dedicated to building quality software, but is enthusiastic about empowering others to do the same. The team will act as stewards for our platform by improving processes, reducing technical debt, and advocating for scalable architecture.
  • Identify and implement strategies and metrics for assessing user-facing performance, work with your team to implement those strategies, and implement solutions for performance bottlenecks that you discover.
  • Lead the team in using profiling tools and techniques to pinpoint areas of the codebase that are causing slowdowns or inefficiencies.
  • Work with other engineering teams to identify pain points in their day-to-day activities, and work with your team to develop solutions to streamline processes that allow our developers to write, test, and ship code more efficiently.
  • Foster strong working relationships with cross-functional counterparts (in areas such as Cloud Architecture, Information Security, and QA) where problems are addressed directly, and decisions are made based on what’s best for our users, team members, and the business.
  • Work with a high level of autonomy and know when to escalate concerns or collect feedback. You’ll own day-to-day decisions and have space to iterate on team norms and processes.
  • Be accountable for making, measuring, and delivering on team commitments, as well as pivoting when necessary in order to keep the team focused on the most impactful work.
  • Invest in your team by building and supporting growth plans with engineers and identifying opportunities to grow the team thoughtfully.

ABOUT YOU ????

  • You are an engineer by trade, with a history of shipping production code and designing distributed systems to work at scale.
  • You have 6+ years of engineering experience, working with some combination of Node.js/TypeScript, React (or similar framework), GraphQL, and PostgreSQL (or similar relational database).
  • You’re comfortable identifying, owning, and solving problems from end to end, across domains, encompassing the full technical stack.
  • You have experience with profiling and Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools, and understand how to measure and assess user-facing performance.
  • You lead by example. You take pride in writing quality software, and provide tools and mentoring to help others do the same.
  • You’re pragmatic and empathetic. You seek to understand how performance issues impact users, and how process-changes impact developers. You seek to align your team’s efforts towards business outcomes, and strive to make that alignment engaging, exciting, and achievable.

The Opportunity

In your role as Marketing Operations Specialist, you play a crucial part in our dynamic marketing team. Your expertise and support in marketing operations will drive our business objectives and ensure that our marketing efforts are set up for success. You will be part of a marketing operations team that is data-driven and focused on managing marketing campaigns, systems, data, and processes to enable the marketing team to succeed. Your responsibilities will include executing and overseeing marketing campaign operations, managing systems and data, and ensuring that our processes are optimized to provide the necessary support for our marketing team to achieve their goals. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization and report to our Manager of Marketing Operations to drive quality, maintain system health, and optimize our campaigns.

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities for campaign operations development and execution, including:
    • Scheduling and creating Marketo programs/campaigns
    • Event & Syndication list upload 
    • Creating email list targeting segments
    • Perform QA checks on outbound email programs
    • Managing the Marketing Email Calendar
  • Monitor, optimize, and update Marketo automation and programs.
  • Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss project specifics and coordinate with internal resources for campaign execution.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and design teams to create and optimize HTML email templates and campaigns to drive engagement.
  • Collaborate with web optimization teams to help implement AB tests.
  • Provide reporting and analysis on email performance and other key business metrics.
  • Create, monitor, and share regular email marketing data and reporting, including email deliverability metrics, with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize email deliverability, segmentation, marketability, and email compliance strategy.
  • Create and maintain campaign documentation and support materials.

What we're looking for

  • A strong background and understanding of demand generation programs, email marketing best practices, and campaign operations.
  • Ability to ramp up on new technologies quickly.
  • Experience in email marketing, marketing operations, demand generation roles, or related experience at a B2B SaaS company.
  • Experience in Campaign Operations utilizing Marketo.
  • Hands-on experience in tactical execution - setting up, optimizing, and reporting on campaigns, including AB testing emails. 
  • Experience with CRM Salesforce campaign management and reporting.
  • Preferred experience with the tools our department uses: Marketo, Salesforce, Ringlead, Drift, GA4, 6sense, and Calibeermind

The Challenge to Solve

As a QA Engineer at Slice you will ensure that our applications are released with the highest quality possible. 

The Role

Reporting to the QA lead you will be responsible for designing both manual and automated tests ensuring all relevant requirements are covered. You will be responsible for raising bugs in our bug tracking system whilst helping developers in debugging issues. In addition you will participate in the planning of software features within an Agile environment, including details of technical implementation and product requirements, all while serving as an internal representative, advocate, and expert for QA, contributing that perspective to the company in every way.

The Team

In the UK, the Slice team is in direct contact with our US/Macedonian partners and customers on a daily basis. Our teams in the UK, Ohrid and Debar work closely with our New York City office to coordinate our support, marketing, and information efforts. You will be joining a close knit team of 6 quality assurance specialists in the Belfast office who are dedicated to the consistent quality of all Slice products and services. We’re looking for creative, entrepreneurial engineers who are excited to build world-class products for small business counters. These are the core competencies this role calls for:

  • 2-3 years experience within software quality assurance and a strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Technical working knowledge of APIs and key concepts e.g authentication, payload structure and test approach is required
  • A working understanding of web services technology (HTML, browser features and challenges, use of browser-based dev tools etc)
  • Use of relevant API testing tools such as SoapUI/Postman, Charles/Fiddler to implement automated regression suites

Qualifications

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Experience with a broad range of AWS technologies (e.g., EKS, AMI, RDS, Cloud Watch, IAM, S3)
  • Excellent knowledge of methodologies and technologies in QA areas
  • Ability to work both independently and in an Agile team-oriented and collaborative environment
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Functional knowledge of Linux
  • Strong troubleshooting techniques
  • Proven ability to be structured, organized and detail-oriented

About the role:

The Platform Quality Engineering team works with teams across Samsara’s Cloud Platform to ensure mobile, web, and API products function with high quality. The team’s goal is to cultivate a quality culture that produces best in class product reliability, usability, and performance across all of our platform development teams.

We're looking for a self-driven, experienced QE for our team who has a real passion for quality, and strives to innovate and try new things, incorporating continuous improvement of testing methods. In this role, you will: 

  • Be a part of a development team, quickly understand the product, the architecture and come up with a plan to test/validate functionality, and identify and target weaknesses
  • Be a part of the development process, collaborating with the engineering and product teams to discover details of proposed functionality, spotting gaps/conflicts and understanding upcoming work
  • Rapidly diagnose issues and perform root cause analysis with backend, mobile, and fullstack developers
  • Execute manual and automated test plans across the backend, mobile and web
  • Develop test fixtures using a hands-on approach to shift from a manual end-to-end testing environment to an automated one.
  • Design, write and deliver high quality test fixtures, frameworks and build tools to production standards as part of team sprints
  • Document, structure and maintain automated test cases and code used for test execution
  • Track performance, report results to management, drive issues to closure
  • Authors and maintains effective (clear & organized) documentation

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 4+ years of experience in a quality engineering function.
  • 2+ years of experience in developing test suites using QA automation tools like Selenium, Cypress etc.
  • Proficiency with programming and querying languages: SQL along with either Javascript or Python 
  • Proven abilities for effective troubleshooting, debugging and perform root cause analysis
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable working with distributed teams from diverse backgrounds

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience working in teams operating in the IOT domain
  • Experience creating automation frameworks and automating products across multiple surfaces: mobile, web, and API.
  • Proficiency with programming and querying languages: GoLang

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy:Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles.  For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually. 

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
