Email Marketing and MarTech Consultant

EllevestRemote (United States)

Ellevest is hiring a Remote Email Marketing and MarTech Consultant

Who We Are

Ellevest is an investing and wealth management company built by women, for women. In a sea of financial services, we stand apart with our mission to get more money in the hands of women. We started by building the only gender-aware investing platform that takes totally un-ignorable realities  — like pay gaps, different salary curves, and women’s longer lifespans — into account. Then we added financial planning services for Ellevest clients, plus a full-service private wealth management service that helps high net worth people, families, and institutions align their financial power with their values.

Ellevest was founded by Wall Street veteran, Sallie Krawcheck. Before Ellevest, Krawcheck was one of the only financial executives of her generation to have held C-suite roles at the largest global banks — as CEO of Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney, US Trust, and Sanford Bernstein and as CFO of Citi. As a venture-funded business, we’ve beat impossibly long odds to raise $145 million in venture capital funding (women CEOs raise $1 out of every $10,000 Series B fintech dollars). Our investors include: Rethink Impact, Venus Williams, Valerie Jarret, Pivotal Ventures, and Melinda Gates’ family office.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Ellevest is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company. We believe Data shows that diverse teams are more innovative, make better decisions, and lead to greater employee engagement. When hiring, we look for culture add, not culture fit. That means hiring people who bring new perspectives and different experiences to our team. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

About This Position

Are you a tech-savvy marketer excited about continuously testing and learning? We're looking for an Email Marketing and MarTech Consultant to join our growth team and help shape our CRM marketing and operations. You will play an instrumental role in the day-to-day execution, management, reporting, and optimization of Ellevest's CRM communications. As a member of the growth team, you’ll also benefit from broad exposure to a range of disciplines within a high-growth start-up environment (marketing, content, design, product, operations, engineering, compliance), including a window into how your work influences top-line company goals.

This is a freelance (independent contractor) position on our fully remote team. The role is initially expected to require a 20-25 hour/week commitment but could vary depending on workload and business needs.

Day-to-day you will:

  • Produce CRM communications including email, push, and in-app messages to support company goals and campaigns
  • Implement audience segmentation, suppression, and deliverability strategies
  • Follow CRM QA and deployment processes to ensure accuracy
  • Manage records of CRM communications to comply with investment advisor regulations
  • Support ad hoc projects as they relate to marketing technology needs and improvements

We’re looking for:

  • Experience producing digital assets using HTML, CSS, and aptitude to learn new technologies
  • Experience and familiarity with Braze, Salesforce, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Pardot (or a similar marketing automation platform). Webflow experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • An interest in using data and testing to improve marketing program(s)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to project manage across multiple stakeholders
  • Ability and desire to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. This includes working independently and on a team.
  • Passion for our mission

Ellevest's compensation framework is based on data, benchmarking, research for comparable companies, and our internal pay equity policies. The prospective hourly rate for this role is $50 - 80/hour. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including (but not limited to) the applicant's experience, skills, certifications, as well as internal equity among our team. This is an independent contractor position and is not eligible for health insurance, retirement, or parental leave benefits.

Working at Ellevest

Ellevest was founded in New York City, but today, our fully remote team is spread across the United States. Your work will directly support our mission and benefit the lives of real women every day. We’re also dedicated to building a work environment where everyone on our team can grow and thrive, with flexible working hours and time off; remote work policies designed for transparency and effective cross-team collaboration; ongoing team building, and professional development.

Do you think you could thrive in this role?

Please send us your application — even if you don’t check every single box. No two people’s career paths look exactly alike, and skill sets come in many different forms. We can’t wait to hear about yours.

Note:Instead of a cover letter, we ask you to answer the questions at the bottom of this application.

You will impact the business in tangible, visible ways and always have a seat at the table.

You will need to know when and how to listen to, influence, coach, share with, advocate to, and lead others.

This is a remote position available within the United States. We operate in an agile-inspired manner; collaborating across multiple time zones. We build modern software with modern techniques like TDD, continuous delivery, DevOps, and service-oriented architecture. We focus on high-value products that solve clearly identified problems but are designed in a sustainable way and deliver long-term value.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Lead the collaboration with stakeholders while leading the execution of complex and/or critical projects within the Auth & Accounts team or across multiple engineering teams.
  • Model consistently sustainable results against measurable goals.
  • Break down projects into actionable milestones.

  • Frame business problems using high-quality data analysis and empirical evidence for leadership.
  • Find new and better ways of doing things that align with business priorities.
  • Influence other engineers toward right-sized solutions.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and improve the on-call experience for others.
  • Help Stitch Fix continue to develop new methods of collaborating with partners across the organization.
