Role Overview

The Storefront Team at Recharge is responsible for storefront widgets and backend services. These inject Recharge features; Subscriptions, Bundles, and Loyalty benefits into our merchant’s checkout experience. They handle 2.5M+ sessions per day and are some of our highest scale components in our platform. Checkout performance is critical to driving merchant revenue. As a result our widgets require high performance and stability.

In addition to the front-end widgets, the team is also responsible for supporting back-end services consisting of SQL/document databases, a CDN, event-driven messaging systems and REST APIs.

The Role: Senior Software Engineer (Mobile)

As a Senior Mobile Engineer on the Crypto Core team you’ll be working with a cross-functional team of web, mobile, and backend engineers to build our mobile trading platform and features support the crypto wallet engineering team at Gemini. You’ll architect and solve complex problems that will directly influence the direction of the digital asset space. We are looking for an engineering leader and manager for our Product Infrastructure Ruby team, responsible for continued improvement of the application architecture in some of our most important backend applications. This team designs, develops, tests, and maintains tools that make our important applications run smoothly and developers working on them productive. We help pave the way to simply starting up new applications that solve for gusto’s needs. This is crucial to Gusto’s continued growth as a product development organization and company.

The Challenge to Solve

Empower local business owners with an incredible Android app-based ordering experience that both delights their customers, and keeps them coming back for more.

The Role

As a member of one of our Consumer Product Engineering  squads, you will create innovative experiences in the Android version of our Consumer app,  that help hungry pizza buying customers order the food they love from their local pizzerias. You will work collaboratively with our other Product Engineering squads to collectively define and execute the product roadmap against company goals and realistic timelines. Pay Transparency

The base pay for this role is: $192,000 - $252,000 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program, company equity grants, and annual performance bonuses.

• Serve as the subject matter expert on Quality Engineering (QE) and Quality Assurance.
• Lead the planning, execution and release of complex technical projects across multiple teams in the domain of QE.

• 5+ years of experience with  hands-on implementation of automated testing tools and frameworks.
• 5+ years of experience leading technical teams including mentoring and training more junior engineers.

• At least 6 years of software engineering experience.

You’ll be working with a close-knit backend team of Cloud, PHP, Java, and Python engineers, all working closely to provide a best-in-class platform for developers to use. This team works closely with our Staff engineers and other teams at Life360 to ensure solutions will perform at scale.

• Work with other engineers to strategize on how to decouple PHP services into new Java microservices
• Horizontally scale our PHP platform to handle another 10+ billion events per day
• Work cross-functionally across teams to gain alignment on your or team's initiatives
• Monitor health, suggest/drive improvements for, and deploy your own services
• Mentor other developers to help them grow
• Maintain and improve service level objectives (SLOs)
• Collaborate closely with Staff engineers to build technical specs 
• Help our Test Engineering team to further automate services and component validation

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar quantitative field or the equivalent industry experience
• 5+ years experience with Java services
• 3+ years experience with relational or non-relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc
• Proficient in microservices and horizontally scalable architectures
• Understand how to deploy and maintain systems, ideally with Kubernetes
• Communicates effectively with cross-platform teammates

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years experience with Java (bonus for Spring Framework experience), Python, PHP, CakePHP, and queuing/stream technologies such as Kafka and NSQ

About the Role:

We’re looking to add a Senior Data Integration Engineer with a strong background in data engineering and development.  You will work with a team of software and data engineers to build client-facing data-first solutions utilizing data technologies such as SQL Server and MongoDB. You will develop data pipelines to transform/wrangle/integrate the data into different data zones.

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold extensive knowledge of SQL, relational databases, ETL pipelines, and big data fundamentals.  You will also need to possess strong experience in the development and consumption of RESTful APIs.  The ideal candidate will also be a strong independent worker and learner.
