Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle Data Integration Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining Oracle database solutionsto support our client's organization's critical business applications.

The Senior Oracle Data Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design efficient integration solutions, database structures, write complex SQL queries, optimize performance, and ensure data integrity. This role requires strong technical expertise in Oracle database development especially around data integrations with other systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand application requirements and translate them into efficient database designs and integration solutions.
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, ETL’s, functions, triggers, and packages to implement business logic. Optimize database performance by analyzing query execution plans, indexing strategies, and tuning SQL statements.
  • Ensure data integrity and security by implementing appropriate data validation rules and access controls.
  • Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patching as required.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including data models, schema diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Oracle technologies and best practices.
  • Review and validate solution design and ensure it covers all the technical aspects. 
  • Coordinate with the offshore teams on the development activities and participate in solution design discussions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Oracle data engineer/developer or similar role. Implementing Rest web services to fetch and push data.
  • Experience dealing with large data and developing complex application and have understanding creating data model, DDL and using Oracle Database 19c.
  • Experience with data warehousing/data lake and ETL processes.
  • Evaluate and validate solution interfaces, integration points and dependencies.
  • Liaising with the engineering team for project completion, Reviewing ongoing operations and rectifying any issues.
  • Understanding project requirements and developing detailed structure.
  • Implementing best practices and coding standards
  • Proficiency in performance tuning techniques and query optimization
  • Advanced written and spoken English.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of one or more of NEC Public Safety’s software development teams, with primary responsibility for ensuring that all software solutions are designed, developed and delivered to agreed quality standards within agreed timeframes and costs.
  • Providing leadership, functional and line management of one or more onshore software development teams ensuring that individuals are performing and delivering to the required standards.
  • Providing leadership and functional management of one or more offshore software development teams, monitoring that individuals are performing and delivering to the required standards.
  • Promptly and effectively dealing with any performance issues to maintain high productivity from the team at all times.
  • Working with the appropriate Product Managers to ensure that the developed software solutions fully meet the needs of the client and the expectations of the revenue and order book forecasts.
  • Ensure that all development work conforms to the agreed NEC quality processes and standards and that software is designed, built and delivered to the highest level.
  • Actively identify opportunities for process improvement and implement accordingly in conjunction with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all software developed conforms to the appropriate technical and design standards including any such standards defined by the NEC Solutions Architects and Technical Design Authorities.
  • Production and management of the overall software resource and delivery plan.
  • Ensure that the software development teams are adequately and efficiently utilised at all times.
  • Production of accurate and timely development progress reports as requested.
  • Proactively participate in technical risk mitigation and issue resolution as required.
  • Advising the NEC Management Team of any deviations from plan, recommending corrective action and helping prepare any appropriate recovery initiatives.
  • Working with the NEC Management Team to ensure budgets and delivery timescales are met.

Qualifications

Essential experience & skills:

  • Proven experience of successfully managing complex software developments with a team of at least 10-15 developers through the entire development life cycle - from initial requirements capture through design, development and testing to customer delivery.
  • Proven experience of working with formal Agile software development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage distributed teams, including onshore and offshore developers.
  • Collaborate closely with the Scrum Master(s) to identify risks and issues, and proactively manage these to minimise impacts on software delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • An ability to represent NEC professionally in client facing situations and to act in their best interests.

  • Work directly with our Azure SQL Managed Instance Product Group to provide world-class engineering support at a product component level.

  • Provide periodic on-call rotation (low frequency) service as primary response to service escalations.
  • The position is primarily behind the scenes providing engineering support to the broader Microsoft SQL Cloud support delivery teams for incidents that require product group engagement. At the same time, individuals should be capable and prepared to occasionally engage directly with customers to help facilitate incident resolution as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience on various versions of SQL Server Engine product. Azure SQL Managed Instance experience is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing or support role in any of the following: technical escalation support, product support, developer support, IT DevOps, IT Admin/support, Systems Development, or Consulting or IT/Network Operations.
  • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following:

Job Description

DMS is seeking a talented and motivated Data Scientist Intern to join our dynamic team.
