WHAT YOU’LL DO

Eateris looking for an experienced reporter and editor with a strong understanding of the food and restaurant culture in D.C. to contribute news stories, features, video, and maps to our DC city site, one of its marquee publications. This person will work under D.C. editor Tierney Plumb. As associate editor, you will: 

  • Contribute to the day-to-day coverage of the site, including its mix of news stories, service-focused maps and guides, and in-depth or short features and profiles.
  • Assist with occasional editing of freelancer work as needed
  • Help the D.C. editor meet the site’s editorial calendar requirements and goals 
  • Assist with scheduling/strategizing for social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) and newsletters for Eater DC, keeping in line with Eater's standards
  • Participate in cross-brand efforts and collaboration with the national Eater.com team as needed
  • Ensure all copy produced meets our style guide, SEO goals, and editorial standards
  • Track openings and develop sources including chefs, restaurateurs, relevant spokespeople, and alternative sources for coverage as needed
  • Attend nighttime restaurant previews, tastings, and events and shoot dish/scene photos, capture video footage
  • Assist with running the daily operations of Eater DC when the lead editor is unavailable or on vacation

 

WHO YOU ARE

A journalism background, particularly with breaking daily news, developing sources, and covering a beat. Experience covering restaurants, hospitality, or real estate a plus.

  • Ideas for and the ability to execute ambitious storytelling
  • Ability to juggle daily news coverage with ongoing enterprise stories while adhering to deadlines
  • Comfort with cold calling, quick deadlines, and a sense of urgency surrounding the fast pace of digital news
  • A drive to continue Eater’s reputation as the number one source furthering the conversations about the restaurant world in your city
  • A drive to predict vs. react to the news cycle
  • Attention to detail, news judgment, and careful eye for accuracy
  • A desire and interest in covering communities and cultivating diverse sources. Fluency in languages other than English is a strong asset.
  • Interest in digital headline writing, analytics, and social media publishing
  • A love for restaurants and knowledge of the local scene and at the very least a voracious hunger to become an expert in the industry
  • Experience with photography, shooting/editing video, analytics, Instagram, TikTok a plus

We’re looking for an Accessibility Design Lead to embed within our Learning Components team, the home of some of our most resourced and empowered accessibility experts in the organization. The heart of this role is helping us achieve a truly accessible, AA-compliant product experience for users of all abilities, starting with the most fundamental technical components of our learning content.

You will also drive accessibility improvements to the platform UX across the product organization in partnership with our Accessibility Designer for Assessments. Ultimately, we want your help creating a living document that states our level of a11y compliance across the whole platform.

  • Expert-level understanding of WCAG 2.1 AA and how to apply it to web apps across mobile and desktop.
  • Proven record of successfully leading a11y efforts through all phases of development, with large-scale projects involving multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Experience creating documentation and deliverables for accessibility initiatives at scale (roadmaps, project plans, playbooks, communications).

The target salary range for this position is $152,908 - $162,465 USD / $191,135 - $203,081 CAD. The pay range for this position is a general guideline only.   • Influence and contribute to the internal design process and team culture.
  • Make time to mentor other designers on the team and share your craft, learning as you teach.

About the Role

As the product leader of the Adoption team you will take ownership of the Cloudflare dashboard and cloudflare.com. You will measure and grow the engagement of customers and prospects with our products and with Cloudflare itself. Problems you may face: 

  • How can cloudflare.com do better at educating prospects about Cloudflare products and our mission to build a better Internet? How do we measure progress? 
  • How can the dashboard provide individual product teams a powerful canvas on which to deliver world-class experiences? Can we maintain a tech stack and common design language that empowers individual teams to build great experiences rather than constrain them?
  • Can we simultaneously educate customers about our products, convince them to pay, then onboard and upsell them to new offerings as well as encourage them to onboard their colleagues and friends? 
  • Can we manage adjacent cost drivers like customer support and outbound sales? Can we be confident that moving the needle on these fronts is doing more good than harm? Can we leverage adjacent channels like cloudflare.tv and social media? 
  • Many customers interact with Cloudflare predominantly through APIs or Terraform. How can these properties serve the needs of those customers as well while maintaining velocity of innovation? 

As Director of Product Management, Adoption, you’ll be responsible for leading a small team of PMs who partner with a committed set of engineering, design, and go-to-market teams as well as product teams from around the company to meet these challenges. At the same time, you’ll be expected to establish and maintain a high performance culture in your team and contribute to citizenship at Cloudflare - promoting excellence and elevation of the craft of Product Management across the company. 

Key Competencies

In this role, you’ll be responsible for building and iterating existing products and delivering brand-new. We want to find someone who is curious, can learn quickly, think creatively, and work cross-functionally with engineering, design and other teams. A few key competencies:

  • Demonstrated excellence building public facing UX in an Enterprise setting. Be prepared to show examples of your work, ideally live.
  • A history of building and managing teams where people deliver the best work of their lives in a dynamic environment where goals can conflict and desires always exceed resources
  • First-class execution - we want to understand the system by which you manage competing priorities, progress never stops and the right things get done. 
  • Excellent synthesis abilities - you will not be handed a graph to move. You will be asked to talk to numerous constituents and then define the graph that needs to move, convince everyone else it is the right graph, then move it - iteratively, continuously, tirelessly. 
  • Influence through persuasion - you need to convince teams that do not work for you to see things your way. Your communication skills and EQ will need to be excellent.  You’re able to speak with ease to customers, engineers, colleagues and executives
  • A track-record of driving excellence throughout the organizations you serve. We want to hear not just about the things you shipped but the difficult cases where you had to say no. 

Bonus Points

  • Understanding the modern UX stack with enough fidelity to hold your own with engineers will be highly beneficial. An engineering background would be helpful. An alternate source of credibility on this front might come from having developed a web property yourself.
  • Data-fluency - there is no team of analysts at Cloudflare. Can you work directly with data yourself to build confidence in your views and can you use that same data to persuade others?  
  • At Cloudflare it’s pretty helpful to understand how the Internet really works at layers 2 through 7. If you don’t have this, be prepared to speak with mastery about another realm of similar complexity.

About the position

Are you interested in contributing to Cloudflare’s Mission by enabling data, insights, and decision-making for our global leadership team? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated People Analytics Manager with a strong background in User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design in Tableau. In this role, you will implement dynamic visual elements that users see and interact with through our analytics platforms and solutions, championing data democratization. You will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, enhancing the user experience of our analytics dashboards, and driving data-driven decision-making processes within the organization.

What you'll do

  • Utilize Tableau to analyze and visualize complex people-related data taking into consideration critical design elements such as navigation and feature development.
  • Translate business requirements into interactive and intuitive dashboards that facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead the design and development of visually appealing and user-friendly analytics dashboards across candidate and employee lifecycles. 
  • Develop technical and training documentation for all analytics platforms and solutions front end interface, i.e., “How to Guides”.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather user requirements and feedback to continuously improve the UX/UI of analytics solutions.

What you’ll do:

  • Researches, conceptualizes, writes, proofreads, and edits original content and digital experiences
  • Partners with the creative team to determine overall creative message that is brand consistent
  • Proposes new ideas and push our thinking for all things copy-related
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to create content that is relevant, engaging, and results-driven

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging UX writing methodologies.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a UX Writer, Content Writer, or similar role with a focus on user interface content
  • Experience creating concepts and copy for dynamic content pieces such as articles, blogs, case studies, and email requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks
  • Highly organized with the ability to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in developing methodologies and presenting solutions
  • Experience interacting and working cross-functionally with teams such as design, development, brand management, account management, and leadership
  • Understanding of interactive design and usability principles and how content strategy and creation contributes to the user experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
  • Possess User Empathy, Creativity, and Adaptability, and Being Open to Feedback
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, UX Design, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with digital communication solutions, SaaS, or tech products.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to embed within our Product Growth team and help us scale product adoption among users. The heart of this role is identifying opportunities to improve the user journey from acquisition to engagement, and designing experiences and features that contribute to the success of our products. You will help drive sign up conversion and ensure that new users find it easy and rewarding to use Khan Academy and Khanmigo regularly.

Some of the projects you will work on:

  • Experimenting with different conversion strategies for core Khan Academy.
  • Experimenting with different conversion strategies and growth loops for Khanmigo.
  • Improving time-to-value for new Khanmigo signups.
  • Supporting scaling into new international markets.

  • 5+ years of experience as a product/UX designer.

  • Comfortable building experiences with Webflow  and Figma (show us in your portfolio).
  • Strong across interaction design, prototyping, and information architecture, with a keen eye for visual design and experience using quant/qual to make data-informed decisions.
  • Track record of executing successful growth strategy through your design skill set, relationship building, and team alignment on desired outcomes.

The Team

UserTesting’s Digital Marketing team includes content marketing and strategy, web authoring, webinars, and paid and organic search and social media. The team’s mission is to deliver cohesive digital content journeys that efficiently drive engagement and loyalty by educating our audiences and building credibility and trust. 

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Digital Marketing, as the Digital Marketing intern, you’re a motivated, energetic team player with a passion for writing, marketing, and driving results. As a bonus, you’ll have a strong interest in basic design principles and some basic HTML experience. 

During your internship, you’ll work with a team of content creators across written web content, paid and organic social media, video, and more to help the team audit, create, and optimize new and existing marketing content for a wide range of target audiences. M3USA is hiring a Remote Graphic Design Lead

Job Description

The Graphic Designer Lead is responsible for coordinating the design and production of visual materials, ensuring that they meet the organization's and Panel team’s branding guidelines and objectives. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of graphic design and ensuring the delivery of high-quality visual content, working closely with the wider panel functions to develop and execute a variety of visual materials that align with all our brand standards and Global Panel objectives. The ideal candidate has a strong creative eye, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for producing visually stunning designs.

Please note, this person will be expected to work UK hours.

  • Lead and manage the Panel graphic design team, with responsibility for the management, development, and appraisal. Effectively delegating work, providing guidance, training, feedback, and support to ensure the timely delivery of projects.
  • Support the design function across all centralised panel brands and internal programs.
  • Collaborate with all panel functions and stakeholders on campaigns strategy and centralisation of Panel brands.
  • Collaborate with the corporate Marketing team to ensure best practices are followed and efficiencies are implemented.
  • Ensure that all company and Panel's branding, editorial, and marketing guidelines are followed across all design materials, working closely with the content department to ensure consistency in branding and messaging.
  • Develop and implement design guidelines, standards, and processes to maintain consistency across all visual materials.
  • Design intelligent marketing collateral to achieve objectives and align with organizational goals.
  • Provide design-based recommendations to enhance user journey and usability on specified websites.
  • Review and approve final designs, ensuring they meet brand guidelines and project specifications.
  • Effectively collaborate with all centralised Panel Team functions to ensure Global Panel goals are met.
  • Deliver diverse projects, including marketing collateral, conferences materials, web graphics, emails, infographics, and social media images.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education and Training Required:

  • Degree in design, marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Fluent English speaker with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Second language proficiency preferred, but not required.

Minimum Experience: 

5+ years' marketing and graphic design experience.

Experience line managing in a graphic design team.

 Knowledge, Skill, Ability:

  • Effective project and time management skills, with the special focus on the ability to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft suites.
  • Proficient in video editing software (After Effects, Premier etc).
  • Solid understanding of HTML, CMS programs (WordPress).
  • Strong knowledge in Digital design, including an awareness of UI and UX principles.
