Newsela is hiring a Remote Temporary Senior Technical Accounting Manager

The role: 

We are looking for a Temporary Senior Technical Accounting Manager to oversee technical accounting transactions and related projects, as well as ensure that high risk accounts are properly accounted for. This position will require technical accounting research and accounting documentation while actively maintaining and updating Newsela’s accounting policies. The position will also be responsible for the implementation of new and modified accounting guidance while working with appropriate teams to ensure proper adoption. Your work will help enable quality reporting and accounting operations that support the growth of our business. Ultimately, this growth will broaden our product’s reach and bring engaging, culturally responsive learning content to K-12 teachers and students nationwide.

You will:

  • Lead the research and evaluation of transactions, legal contracts, business practices, new and modified accounting guidance, and policies for compliance with accounting and reporting standards
  • Interact with external auditors on technical accounting issues and assist in the support of the annual audit
  • Prepare and/or update technical accounting memos and process walkthroughs related but not limited to accounting for capitalized software, stock based compensation, and purchase price accounting, providing both technical and/or operational knowledge
  • Prepare technical accounting analysis related to new transactions and new or evolving products

You’ll be responsible for building relationships with key decision makers at the school district, trust, consortium, and school building level across the globe. The role: 

As a Sales Representative, you will be part of a regional sales team and the overall face of Newsela in the market. You’ll be responsible for building relationships with key decision makers at the school district level in addition to selling Newsela’s suite of products to bring engaging reading content to districts. In your day to day, you will do everything from pipeline management and forecasting  to designing lead generation campaigns and managing sales through the entire lifecycle. You will also become well-versed in your territory’s funding, state initiatives, demographics, and K-12 education landscape, which will help inform your overall sales strategy.

Newsela is hiring a Remote Professional Learning Specialist (West)

The Role: 

The Professional Learning Specialist will deliver high-quality professional learning that drives desired and measurable behavior change to groups of educators and administrators at schools and districts across the country to get the most out of Newsela through in-person sessions, webinars, and online courses. You will inspire session participants via compelling delivery, engagement tactics, and mastery of high quality resources. Additionally, you will communicate with account and customer stakeholders to tailor professional learning sessions to align with customer goals and product engagement goals. Reporting to a Manager of Professional Learning, you will partner with Go-To-Market teams to advocate for educators within Newsela, helping provide product and customer insights, along with your own pedagogical knowledge, to drive greater user engagement.
