Job Description

Arcadis is currently looking for an Electrical Designer to join our Raleigh, NC office, however the role is open to remote work, within the US landscape. Working under direction Sr. Lighting Designer and Engineers, the Lighting Designer will provide design, lighting calculations and develop lighting construction documents in Revit, conforming to client requirements and applicable codes.  Projects include new construction and renovations for industrial and commercial projects.  Designs will include lighting calculations, lighting layout, lighting control diagrams and lighting sequence of operations.

  • 2-5 years related experience in the lighting design engineering field 
  • 2-5 years’ experience lighting design in Revit
  • Lighting software: AGI32 and Revit Elumtools preferred
  • Degrees beneficial but not required; AS Architectural/Engineering,

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and project documentation and ensure compliance with any applicable QA/QC programs
  • Ensure that engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, analysis, budget estimates) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices.
  • Ensure that project deliverables are met in a timely manner to a high quality 
  • Provide Peer Review of other electrical department projects
  • Travel is less than 5% 
     

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Professional Engineering License
  • Experience with a focus on client satisfaction and quality.
  • 12 to 15 years of experience in the designing of electrical systems for industrial building, commercial buildings, factories, K-12, and Higher Education facilities
  • Ability to work in a team coordinating with other engineers, designers, and architects.
  • Ability to design power, lighting, fire alarm, data/com, and security systems
  • Experience with REVIT, ETAP, SKM POWERTOOLS or EASY POWER
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 + years of hands on Revit experience

  • Registration as a Mechanical Engineer with any state in the US, or ability to obtain registration in a quick turnaround time. 
  • Ability to work independently and produce the expected results, with general instructions/guidance from Project Manager
  • Commitment to meeting project deadlines, often times under stringent time constraints  
  • Time management skills for working on several projects at once, prioritizing urgent tasks in line with project schedule requirements
  • Willingness to learn new energy efficient system design
  • Willingness to get involved with engineering and plumbing societies
  • Piping design skills
  • Controls design skills
  • Revit skills are a plus
